Was listening to some podcasts who had some sports scientists and physios on, discussing the Joe Gomez injury. And it sounds a lot worse than I had expected.

The ACL is often the injury that people associate as one of the worst ones but because it's so common, the whole procedure and recovery is extremely advanced, and majority of players can now return back to peak conditions / performance.

But the surgery to stick the patella tendon sounds incredibly difficult and there is no way to determine how successful it is until months down the line when the muscle grows. If the stitches were done too high, then the knee cannot move freely. If it's done too low, then there will be a lot of pain and discomfort.

Patella Tendon rupture has one of the lowest success rates in pro athletes returning to previous peaks - the rate in the NFL is 25% of athletes returning to peak conditions.

Will try to remain positive but I do think this could seriously harm Joe's career (at least with LFC).

Especially as Joe is one of the fastest, most mobile CB's in the league. It doesn't look good at all/ Let's hope the FA are up to date on their insurance premiums.

I can find nowt saying Bobby has tested positive just speculation that would have to self isolate due to another Brazil player testing positive but surely if him or Becker have been classed as close contacts we would have already heard about that .

England defender Rhys Williams was withdrawn for the U21s' 5-0 triumph over Albania as a precaution after complaining of a hip problem.
Wales right-back Neco Williams was part of the substitutes for their 3-1 win against Finland on Wednesday night after taking a kick to the foot against Ireland a few days earlier
