Is anyone surprised? The football authorities don’t have the balls to do anything else…which is exactly why clubs will always try to find loopholes.
It begs the question; why have rules?
I don't like Derby so, at one time, would've laughed about this, but football shouldn't be like this should it.

Its crazy to think they had Harry Wilson, Tomori and Mason Mount on loan a few years ago. They threw everything into getting promoted that season and they failed so it came back to bite them on the ar$e.
Oh dear, how sad, what a shame nevermind.
Villa also had Mings and Tammy Abraham on loan that season and succeed in promotion.
Thats why ive always been a believer in exploiting the loan market.
As weve already seen with Doyle for example. Weve got a player given to us for free that will be worth millions in a few years time.

Doyle is a much better player than we could afford and will help us go up then hopefully play in the Championship.
Not only that, it will encourage other prospective loanees to see Sunderland as a good place to be.
If the structure, and culture, of the club is right PL managers won't hesitate to send their young players ...
... knowing it's not a Peter Reid style set up where their players are drawn into bad habits.
The EFL are a ridiculous organisation
Surely if they have broken the rules then the EFL impose a sentence. If Derby don’t like it they can Appel Don’t get how they can negotiate and come to an agreement on a sentence
Lefts be blunt the EFL board members are just a bunch of free loaders who love the prestige and power if you could call it that. Me, I call them parasites.
Presumably MSD have a charge on Pride Park, British football really is an ugly place at the moment.

And MSD confirmed that "one of the underlying borrowers associated with a £15m loan entered administration".
However, the statement added that "the company holds collateral well in excess of the loan's outstanding principal and interest".

It's a lesson for us all. We've seen the easy money in the Prem and done nothing good with it. I say look at Brentford instead. A well-run club living within its means and not looking for easy answers or a fast buck. Good role model for SAFC as we (eventually) climb back up the ladder and I hope we don't get arrogant about looking at how clubs like Brentford are run. With our resources and a sound footing we could be a solid club for years if we rebuild properly now...

They've also loaned heavily to Burnley and Southampton.
Burnley have shiny new owners with big plans and are an established PL club.
Derby are a different case and borrowed on high interest rates despite already being in deep shyte.
MSD are making money out of the greed of others, which is how things have always been.
FFP were a different entity and would've actually bought SAFC if Donald had accepted the deal.* When he didn't FFP decided they'd play the long game but KLD came along. But they'd made money from the loan and realised they could repeat the procedure elsewhere.
Who knows where all this will end but it looks increasingly messy for English clubs.
*That's my opinion, don't care if people agree or not.

Football isn't how it should be any more.
Derby are a big club because the town and county are large.
Therefore they were well supported and grew accordingly.
Now, however, they could drop to L1 and quite possibly L2.
Little of that is to do with the players or supporters.
What has happened is that the money for success no longer comes from the community, it comes from foreign business and states.
Clubs that chase PL success can plummet if it goes wrong.
No big deal but a bit of a shame imo.
Said this before but I live in the area and loads of mates are big fans. Today they are more relieved than angry, to them I have spoken to it means certainty for them. They know it is Leaghe 1 now so want to effectively treat rest of this season as a pre season for league 1. More youngsters in. Those with contracts up can be forgotten etc. Not a bad attitude. One or two buyers are serious too by all accounts and this makes a purchase simpler.
Derby are another case study in spending above your means. This time the owner seemed to think he could hide it with a bit of rule bending. Sadly he is a Derby man who wanted his club to progress. It is a pretty sad story. I suspect there will be a few more over the next couple of years.
Like you say mate, football isnt what it should be. It has been allowed to become a business, but without the adequate governance, control at board level to administer the businesses. Not our games anymore.
