Apparently a property developer has bought Pride Park and 'hopes' to put a bid in for the club. Hopefully what @FellTop says is correct.
Not only taking that record , but within it giving us the pleasurable fact that the toon were the only club who failed to beat them and didn’t even get a goal over the two games.
Was offered a ticket to that and went out in Newcastle instead not even checking the score expecting a battering
Just been at a football do in Derby. Seems like this property developer called Clowes is quite far down the process. Someone even said it will be done in principle next week. I hope they are right. Club deserves a future, and if the city doesnt have a league club it will be a proper kick in the balls. Might be a long road back from league 1 though.
I was in the front row behind the goal on the opposite side to the Sunderland fans…was really tough not jumping about
Was there, again in the home end, when we beat them 2-1 and Ross Wallace scored. Remember Dwight Yorke walked past us with what I think was a massive fur jacket on. Think we signed him just after. My said he’ll not buy me a ticket next time we play them
My memories go back to the old Baseball ground. I seem to have a memory of us winning thanks to Shaun Cunnington of all people then being ambushed outside the ground. Dont necessarily trust my memory, but the ambush bit happened at some point in the warren of streets around the BBG.
Wayne Rooney reportedly paid the Derby County squad and staff's wages for May himself, this amounted to around £1.5 million, whilst the club was in turmoil off the pitch and battling relegation on it. Incredible gesture!
Pleased about that. I don't like Derby but I don't want the lower leagues to fall apart completely. I just hope these people aren't the type of classless clowns we copped.
They can just get on with it now, like Wigan did. I have no love nor hate for them but someone was always going to sort them out. Odd that Ashley didn't get it, possibly uncomfortable as to where the money came from. They'll sign players no problem, they have the name to attract. As for Rooney, he can't be blamed for walking. Done his best with mates players that came to do him a favour. The fact he even lead them to a point of being in with a shout of staying up when it was out of the relms of possibility shows what he could do with a stable club with a couple of quid.
