I still think they’re trying to use this as leverage to ensure they get what they want from the CL restructure, but once again in true Yank fashion they’ve not read the room, and this could have consequences for the mere fact that they’ve supposedly reached a collective signed agreement in principle. They’ve poked the wasps nest with a ****ty stick and they’re not going to come out of this well imo.

You fook off, you look back at my thread and your first reply was that it was irrelevant ? ........ look back at the start and so what if it turned into “ something else “ , I think there’s plenty of threads on here that deviate from the original post ?

Then they should show them what football thinks of those tactics by throwing out the safety net when they vote tomorrow!

The only way to stop the breakaway league happening is to isolate them completely and make it clear that it's a one way ticket. If not then just accept it as inevitable and let them do it. I think they are the two options.

My view is if they sign up to it then wish them all the best but remove them from the pyramid and promote teams up through the leagues to fill the gaps

Also make it absolutely clear that when the greedy arseholes realise their mistake they can only rejoin the pyramid at National league level if of course they will accept them

As they will not be representing their relevant countries they will be banned from the existing world wide competions and as the players will be mercenaries they should banned from representing their countries in the World Cup etc

This move is fuelled by American owners of football clubs who have no concept of completion ie the WORLD baseball series is only open to AMERICAN teams, that tells you all you need to know

This move would enable great teams from the past to reestablish themselves as top teams AND give middle sized like for example WATFORD to compete on equal terms in the Prem

If these deluded morons think that anyone other than plastic fans who only watch football on TV will have any interest in a closed shop where no-one wins or loses when the can still watch real teams playing real matches in real stadiums then good luck to them they will need it

Goodbye Man City, Man United Liverpool, Chelsea Arenal and Spurs the only ones who will miss you will be your loyal, local fan base who have supported you through good times and bad, but then your owners don't even know you exist

This is the Americans, with the Arabs and Russians not wishing to miss out. They've been a ****ing disaster to our game since they came in, ran up debts, and tried to make the league a form of gridiron cross with baseball. Do not be surprised if in ten years, when all this ****e has turned to dust, and the brand names of United, Real, Arsenal, Barca and Liverpool are playing in the MLS, and FC Liverpool are reduced to doing a Wimbledon in the fourth tier. As The Who may have said, Hope I Die Before I Get Sold. ****s.

Do you know what I think they're after, realistically? A CL which has permanent members. Even if that did include Liverpool, it's ****ing, ****ing vile. Since it changed from champions and holders only, it's almost an inevitable path. But it stinks. The last two times we have won it, we weren't champions or holders. How may are? In future, you may win it but would never even have qualified under the old system. It stinks, it's devalued
