Everyone else other than the breakaway league would have to stay strong and stand together. You never know, some of the best players might want to play in the World Cup and shun the breakaway clubs. I suppose money would talk to a certain extent. The only way to stop the breakaway league happening is to isolate them completely and make it clear that it's a one way ticket. If not then just accept it as inevitable and let them do it. I think they are the two options.
Brazilian and other Latin American players would definitely pick international football over a 'Super League'. There's a different sort of pride for them when pulling on the shirt of their country and playing in a World Cup that English players in the Premier League will never understand. Rio Ferdinand talked about it a few years ago. When England players had to go on international duty, they saw it as a chore. When Brazilians went on international duty, it was the best part of their season. And these same Brazilians were playing for the best clubs in Europe at the time.
Should ban all 6 immediately. When you make Man City owners look principled then it shows what a **** you're being. If it goes through that'll be the end of me being a spur.
been thinking about, it's a ****cunts trick they are trying to pull. so what would you do? @Tel already hinted many Utd fans would turn their backs.
that's another point, if it's a super league, what is the criteria? how are arse and spurs being invited?
I dont think this will happen, especially now the so called "Big Six" have heard the response from the fans, the governing bodies and even the government. They will be back tracking like a ma'****er. And I tell you something right now, I will no longer support Chelsea if they do this. I am deadly ****ing serious. We will have to break away and make a Kensington FC or something, FC United of Manchester, style.
I feel sorry for the genuine fans of all the clubs involved in this. Idiots who don't give a **** about football are threatening to disband everything you have ever supported. I don't want to hurt the fans of those clubs because this is bigger than petty rivalries, but I really hope that any club that signs up for this has the book thrown at them. Not just a slap on the wrist but a real meaningful punishment. If they sign up then kick them out. Leave the door open for them to return when the super league fails - at the bottom of the pyramid.
Whether a letter is signed or not, I hope they learn a lesson and bin the new safety net for the champions league tomorrow. Let them finally realise where all this anti-competition stuff leads to
A ‘competition’ set up in the playground of the rich and famous where yachts are handed out as MOTM prizes, nah. This is a result of corruption being rife in the game, the rich have back handed that many authorities down the years that they now own the sport. I’d happily see my club stripped of every title won under the glazers and all points this season if it spells the beginning of the end for the greasy vermin bastards.
