Beat Charlton and Wigan and we WILL achieve what we haven’t and be sat in 2nd. Think we should go for the 3 at the back formation that worked well at Burton and Accrington.
Burge
McLaughlin O’Nien Sanderson
Gooch Power Scowen Hume
Jones Wyke McGeady

If we play the same as today then

Burge
McLaughlin O’Nien Sanderson Hume
Jones Power Scowen McGeady
O’Brien Wyke

I go with this, great shout mate. we could field both those teams and still have a very strong game changing bench, which we have already of course.

I agree McFadzean didnt have a good game yesterday, but I did think there were mitigating factors. Their right back had the measure of McGeady in the main and that meant it was often coming back down the left side quicker. I also thought they were good down that side with two of their better players in tandem. That said he should have done better than he did positionally and for their goal. But then Jones was asleep for the goal as well.

Hume should come in as he is a better player. Whether he is good enough defensively to play full back I am not sure. My recall, which isnt always great, is that he good going forward, good pace which is an asset, but defensively is a bit naieve. I hope we arent all making the mistake of allowing players to become better through absence. That said I do think it will be an upgrade.

Similar point on O'Nien whereby people want him back in midfield where he is one of our better midfielders seemingly. Again my memory may be playing tricks but I do not have memories of a string of dominant midfield performances, or attacking displays. Was he really that good that he must go straight in ahead of Scowen, Winchester, Power, Leadbitter etc? Everytime I watch him at CB I think he should stay there. Him and Sanderson look a proper partnership to me. When Power fluffed the pass yesterday I doubt Wright would have had the pace to snuff it out like O'Nien did. Nor do I see Wright as the lad who can make us play so comfortably from the back. He is more experienced and an organiser, but like all centre halves he makes mistakes and gets caught out. I personally just think O'Nien needs to stay where he is along with Sanderson. Wright back in a 3, but not at the expense of one of Sanderson or O'Nien.

The O/9 question is one only time will sort out, my idea would be to play Power and O/9 as the central part of a midfield four in a 3/4/3 and include Connor N , Sanderson, and Wright in a back three in which Sanderson would be central just behind the other two in a sort of sweeper role,( if this makes sense to anyone but me Im not sure ), but it solves a few problems on paper at least, my front three would be McG. Wyke and Jones . Just who plays in the wide midfield area would depend on form and circumstance but Gooch and Hume would do for me.

Our two games against Blackpool worry me to be honest - if there are to be banana skins that is where they will likely manifest themselves, hope I am just being paranoid.

Can see us losing both tbh, they are flying. As long as win all our others though it should see us through.

McFadzean was excellent for a month, then poor yesterday, I don’t agree with everyone gunning for him again. Yes he’s been poor overall since he signed but I personally am gonna roll with him he’s had one bad game after 4-5 good ones.

I look at our remaining games and there’s a few tricky ones, but I think this suits us as we play better when teams have a go.

Overall we weren’t great yesterday but the wind was wild and I think that killed the vision LJ had for the game, was all about not losing that one and it was job done again for the lads.

Charlton always have a little bit about them and always give us a game, I watched about 40 mins of them v Donny and they had a bit going forward, but nothing to fear.

It’s a lads win for me and hopefully one of the others has a dropped point, ideally Peterborough. I think once we hit top 2 we will take some shifting, so sooner the better.

He’s ****e. Hope he never plays for us again.

Charlton look strong away. Hopefully a moment of magic wins it for us in what could be a very nervy affair for both sides

Charlton are close to a defeat or two ending their season

Agree, will be a very tough game. Seen a few posts predicting a 4-0 home win etc. We could easily drop points, so need to be on our A-game.

People keep saying that but ignoring the fact that, since the start of March, they've drawn at home to ...

... Crewe, Wimbledon, Fleetwood, Burton and Plymouth.

During that time they've had 7 home games and only 3 away which has skewed things slightly.

Their form isn't as good as it first looks.

We are absolutely flying, any team coming up against us will be worried and setting up to stop us. Embleton and Robson out of both fixtures will weaken their squad

Hopefully Connor Washington is still out with his hamstring

Why? We are unbeaten in 12 and 3rd. We have more points and more clean sheets than them. I get it they may be tricky games but how you see two defeats is beyond me.

He’s about the 15th player on the squad you’ve said that about so you do you mate <laugh>
He is quick and not bad going forward tbh, but he has never looked comfortable defending. When Power is at right back we are literally playing with a back two, under the circumstances Sanderson and O/9 have worked miracles but we look much safer when Connor Mc, is playing and we play a back three, with Power playing his central midfield role in which he has excelled this season.

Am I right in thinking we dont have to worry about suspensions from yellow cards now. Did they reset again at the end of March. I seem to think some rule changes came in this year but not sure.

We havent lost in 12 and have just drawn with the team in 2nd. How do you see us losing them based on how we've been playing?????
