I thought onien was back to his solid self at the weekend. Wright should come in for onien but not until he’s fully fit for me. More than happy with onien there over a rushed back Wright. Good options to have either way though.

    Burge
    Power..Wright..Sandy..Hume
    Jones..Winchester..09..McGeady
    AOB..Charlie
    SUBS Matthews..Mclaughlin..Diamond..Scowen..McGuire..Gooch..Stewart

Keep it like this for as much as possible till rest of season.
Think we would win every game with this line up

Wright of course comes in, but not perhaps in the starting 11, when fully fit.

09 being available of course for midfield

  4. A lot of this is influenced by Luke getting the wrong side against Lincoln. After solid displays, that cost us a couple of points.
We're speculating whether the same would have happened if it was Wright in that position, and we don't know. Wright is a natural defender and alongside Dion, would be better. We think.
LJ has some real selection dilemma here.....McLaughlin at right back has really improved and, dare I mention,we have seen some improvement in McFadzean at left back.....even though there always looks like there's a mistake in there somewhere waiting to happen.A fully fit Denver would surely be preferable though.
If Bailey comes back in,Luke will have to go either to right back or into midfield. If McLaughlin is in at right back,,,,which he deserves imo, Power will have to go to midfield....so where does that leave Luke,Scowen and Winch. I'm leaving Grant on the bench for the minute.....as that's where he belongs imo!
It's a great situation for LJ to be in......and we haven't mentioned further up the field yet!

To complicate matters further, Hume is sometimes bullied at left back if he has a strong winger tussling for the ball.

Yes, move O’Nien to full back which will free up Power to go back in the midfield.

Just leave it to LJ is he not deserving of our trust , he will know how fit the returning players are and how they fit in to his plans . I am absolutely sure he will know what to expect from Oxford and what is required to beat them . It amazes me when we are on such a good run how many posters want this player in , this player out , we should be changing the formation , do all these posters think they know what is required better than LJ who has taken us from also rans to the bookies title favourites . We should let him do what he is doing and as I have said on many occasions he is not slow to change things if things aren’t going to plan . We all have to learn to trust again !!!

I agree but, to be fair, it is a football chat forum and there's no harm done.

It's interesting to see what people think but, as you say, there's only one man making the big decisions.

Even when the team's announced I'm never sure what formation it is ...

... neither will the opposition manager.

To be fair you can both trust Johnson and give your opinion on the team. Football fans have been voicing their opinions since time began it doesn't mean you think the manager is incapable.

Did not intend to offend other posters just putting my point that LJ is doing a good job and he is better placed to make the big decisions .

He is yeah he's doing a bang up job. I've got complete faith in him, he's rapidly earned it. It's a nice feeling, Allardyce was the last time.

Surely if Wright was anywhere near being fit he would have had some time in the U23s game yesterday. I don't think he will be back until Charlton at the earliest but we shall see.
As soon as he is fit I'd have him back in alongside Sanderson and move O'Nien into midfield.

This. O’Nien has done well but Wright is a lot better when it comes to playing CB.

Still don’t think he can play full back as he currently can’t take throw ins. It’s not as simple as “can’t someone else do it “ either as it’s a big part of a full back role. I want O’Nien in midfield. His energy, legs, tackling are all perfect for that role and he can move the ball quickly. Also is a good ****house!!!!

    Burge
    McLaughlin Wright Dion Hume
    Winny O’Nien Scowen
    Jones McGeady

Surely that’s our best team all fit and match sharp?

If fully fit then it's a yes from me. We don't want to undo all of the hard work that they have achieved over the past few months, best player for the postition.
