Did mention that he definitely wasn't going to be friends with Donald and wants him gone as soon as possible. That's as near as people will get to confirmation of it. There's a good reason for it as well because of how Donald went on during the sale. He very nearly ****ed us over and ****ed it up and we're lucky that KLD was determined to get us
Where in the interview did he say he wanted SD out as soon as possible

Yeah it's one of those where it wouldn't be helpful and would probably cause more bother than it's worth. I'll say this though, if our fans knew everything he'd never step foot in this city again (and I supported him for longer than many). Mentioned it at the time to prehab and wackyjacky who I know off the board (@Prehab26 has probably heard about it since from elsewhere) . Not worth dwelling on now but he's not a well meaning failure. He would have ****ed us when we needed security the most. We're lucky that doing so showed his hand to KLD who still wanted us, but from that moment on he was never going to be involved, which likely led to the removal of the lot of them as directors. He's gone, **** him, and this lad genuinely has big plans. It's all good now, thank ****

Yep, after the bits you shared I felt a lot more positive than ever that this would happen and overall the three stooges would have limited, if any, input or influence afterwards. It was clear that KLD had seen through them and determined they wouldn't be involved but it's the past now, time to look forwards and I agree it's not worth digging up.

Thanks for all the info and posts GG :emoticon-0148-yes:

Who are the other people in the pictures with KLD and Speakman?

Are they essential workers and why aren't any of them social distancing and why no masks?

If and when supporters are let back into grounds in small numbers what do you think would happen if people clumped together in small groups, you can see the arrows on the seats so people know how to social distance safely.

I'd imagine they're all wealthy people who are vaccinated, tested up to the eyeballs and travelling together.

Just a guess.

Probably in his "Bubble".

I wouldn't worry too much, I am fairly certain COVID-19 guidelines were followed.

Not too sure mate.

We'd all just been to Wembley, Charlton supporters had a very short journey and they had 3 songs ...

... plus, by then, our football was tragically dull.

It was disappointing but there's been loads of away games where we've sung our heads off.

Unless you go to away games you wouldn't appreciate the variety and originality of our songs tbh.

Portsmouth have two songs both of which are ancient.
I'd had 2 nights on the piss in London by the day of the final, dunno about sing, I could just about see!!

I know it’s off topic etc but with improvements moving forward I seriously think we are well behind with atmosphere/songs we sing to other clubs. I think back to the playoffs against Charlton, their whole end was bouncing singing, looked amazing, we still sing my garden shed etc. That’s just an example but generally our songs etc are pretty boring and standard and same ones for last 25 years
Need to get my Ha’Way, Ha’Way, Ha’Way, Ha’Way Sunlun Sunlun! Song going to the Marco Ole tune.

Aye, I know there are some (over the road more than here to be fair) who say fpp was only ever going to be a loan, didn't want to buy us, didn't have plans for the club etc. Fact is they wanted us and they had detailed plans about the things they wanted to do. Haven't seen them myself but know someone who has, so I'm absolutely certain their intentions were very real.

Now, with the loan paid off we don't need to worry about them any more, but we can already see that KLD is similar in terms of wanting to make sure he gets everything he can in place to give us the best chance of succeeding. It suggests to me that he'll have done a very similar exercise. Hell, depending on the relationship he may even have seen what was produced for FPP. All I know about the plans is that they were "incredibly wide ranging" and that it would be the missed opportunity of a lifetime if they didn't come in. I'm getting more and more convinced that the opportunity is still there, its just in the form of another incredibly rich bloke who is happy to put up with and tolerate Donald as a minor irritant for now, whereas fpp likely wanted nowt at all to do with him. He won't be here to tread water, the very minimum he'll be aiming for is PL, but people like him don't normally set low glass ceilings like that, he'll want us right at the top. Whether he can get us there remains to be seen, but we're already seeing signs of his ambition. This should be a cracking ride
nice piece of well balanced and thought out statements, Just hope he is not a flash in the pan, going bye your words, it looks like he has the vision and forethought to make every Sunderland fans dreams come true. Since being a young lad i have yearned for this time when a saviour nay messiah would step forth and lead us to the promised land , lets hope it will be I'm my lifetime, so I'm just counting the days till we get there, and just enjoying the magic carpet ride

It seems unlikely to me that Charlie Methven or Juan Sartori would have the influence to bring KLD onboard with his billions and dead eyed plan, but who knows.
