I don't have any in-depth knowledge of Singapore, but if it's so great, why don't you go and and live there?
I want us to retain high levels of workers' rights, environmental standards and food standards. I want our welfare state to be maintained or improved, not watered down. I want us to collaborative, not confrontational - internationalist, not isolationist. I don't want to join a race to the bottom.

seems fair to me. Get rid. The EU isn't a sovereign nation. Don't waste the money on it, give the money for school meals.
UK and EU in row over bloc's diplomatic status
A diplomatic row has broken out between the UK and EU over the status of the bloc's ambassador in London.
The UK is refusing to give Joao Vale de Almeida the full diplomatic status that is granted to other ambassadors.
The Foreign Office is insisting he and his officials should not have the privileges and immunities afforded to diplomats under the Vienna Convention.
It is understood not to want to set a precedent by treating an international body in the same way as a nation state.
As it stands, the ambassador would not have the chance to present his credentials to the Queen like other diplomatic heads of mission.
The British decision is in marked contrast to 142 other countries around the world where the EU has delegations and where its ambassadors are all granted the same status as diplomats representing sovereign nations.

eer I am discussing a knighthood of Nigel and Hamilton was mentioned as being more worthy. I am pointing out that he is a hypocrite on many issues. How is that changing? You just want to take the debate off in another direction which will end up you calling everyone nationalists/flag waving bigots.
You cited tax avoidance as a reason Hamilton wasn’t deserving of one despite Sir Nige’s history in that area. It’s that simple.

Don't worry Will. The EU has shown its true colours of late and once we are out of this pandemic we will be in a better position to tell a few countries to 322k off. We are being treated despicable by our so called 'Friends' and these questions have been raised by Tory MP's. Even locally people (MP's) are disgusted how the EU are playing dirty tricks to try and f22k us over. Let's see who will be laughing in the near future?free
In fact, why don't we save the honour for tax exiles only, like Hamilton and Phillip Green?
Anyone using serious devices to avoid large amounts of tax, including Farage (if he has done that) should be off the list imo
