Exactly. This is the dichotomy. The mental health of many children is at stake if we have another lockdown. And the gap will grow between private school pupils that are set testing academic tasks to do at home and then properly marked, as against some state school pupils that get minimal education during a lockdown.
Its tricky situation then really. How do you contain a virus easily spread whilst allowing hundred of children to mix on a daily basis. I've not yet met a kid (granted, only relatives) who would be unhappy at schools closing. Some of them are buzzing at the thought.
Try explaining it to Watford... He thinks the whole country can close for weeks and more weeks and have no effect.
I didn’t say that though. If you’re going to be too obtuse to understand or respond to my post that’s fine but don’t lie about it.
It is tricky. But you can bet that if there is a lockdown, private school pupils will be saturated with curriculum work. Paying parents would expect no less. Thus state and private are out of sync
It all sounds so easy Watford MP for Brackers but sadly it doesn't work like that. T&T hasn't really worked and even SAGE said the only answer was a Vaccine. It's nice to support people but sadly if there is slow to no production that becomes harder (I remember that from Commerce). As for the spread... people will have their own theories on that.
I heard that nearly 800K children since this crap started have not had proper schooling or been to school? Shocking.
I think the lesson that the West will have learned by the end of this saga, is that liberal, laissez faire democracies that don't like interfering in the lives of their electorate, are the ones that fare worst. Those countries with authoritarian governments that lockdown fast and hard, with tough penalties for evaders, are the ones that come through in a better state.
It's sad we didn't have a 'half way house'. I am still a firm believer that people who disrespected the rules are the problem with the spread.
They're certainly a big part of it. I hope the recalcitrants begin to realise that without everyone's compliance, this thing will go on indefinitely, producing increasingly difficult variations.
Spot on.. I said to the Mrs if everyone acted like we have we wouldn't be in this situation... Although I understand that people have got this through no fault of their own.
Such a heart breaking read... I cannot think of anything more awful, than that scenario.. What will Boris say at 8 tonight then
Today is my first day feeling really ****. I don;t know if I have it or not. As a diabetic, I hope not. The worst part is being isolated on your own away from everybody. Rang my GP at 9am this morning and had a test at 3.30pm. I think they tested me so quick as I have an underlying illness. Up to 48 hours before I get the result. Hopefully it is the opposite to what I expect. Like the R's in a relegation battle, I am up for it. Come on You R's. If I have it, I didn't break any rules. I stopped working for 10 months and only left the house recently for food shopping and walking the dog. 6.110 cases in Ireland today. The virus is rampant. Stay in everybody.
