A friend of mine and a bloody good builder. Stuart RIP Lived life to the full and always had a story or three hundred to tell.
Gerry Marsden aged 78. Some memorable songs including, Ferry Cross the Mersey and You’ll never walk alone. Guess there will be a lot of tears in Liverpool tonight!
My favourite was "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying". First 3 singles were all #1. Something the Beatles did't achieve. The first single (How Do You Do It) was #1 before the 1st Beatles #1.
A song the Beatles could have had but turned down. It was later given to Gerry and the Pacemakers and became no. 1 RIP Gerry
RIP Gerry. Saw him play at the Cavern in 1962 when the Beatles were still "The Silver Beatles" and merited a small three line ad in the Echo. At that time the Pacemakers were viewed as the archetypal Liverpudlian group and were as well known and popular locally as the ultimately globally famous foursome. Gerry never lost his Liverpool accent and his song "You'll Never Walk Alone" is world famous as the anthem of the Liverpool football team to be sung at every match. Gerry...RIP Son...safe journey on your last "Ferry Cross the Mersey". I'll miss you.

Barbara Shelley, aged 88. Was a very glamorous leading lady in many 1950s and 60s Hammer Horror films including Dracula, Quatermass & The Pit, Blood of the Vampire & Village of the Damned etc. I seem to recall she had relatives in Hull as I worked with a girl mid sixties who was her niece. RIP. https://mol.im/a/9111023
