Yeah sorry wrong thread for this. It is something that I find genuinely interesting though. I certainly find the blind patriotism bordering on Nationalism that has been prevalent since June 16 very distasteful.

Nationalism and Patriotism are two different things.

Yes I would.
I wanted our borders closed in February
And just to show...that our government would do it too

We have just put a travel ban on people from S Africa...and anyone who has enter the country is asked to quarantine for 10/14 days.

So yes we would also close our borders with a new variant... because we have

We're in tier 4 from boxing day.
I presume most of the country are heading the same way.
Yep.
May as well put everyone on lockdown again till we get more people vaccinated.
I agree with that Col.
A lot of people up north were saying the same a month ago but were getting shot down for it, due to lower infections down south. In my opinion, the whole Tier thing is an absolute farce. I cant go for a drink in my local (which is fine by me) but I can go to one less than 500 yards away which is in north yorkshire. Infact I honestly think the tier system is making things worse as people are going shopping, drinking, socialising etc in lesser tier areas.

Shame they didn’t put a ban on flights at the beginning. Here is a fact for all. Planes flew into this country from China/us/Italy everyday during the first lockdown.

No offence Bob (I do understand the issue you raise) but there has to be a line somewhere between areas - so someone somewhere is always going to live either side of it and possibly have to abide to different rules. But soooooo many comments about “I’m on this side”, “they’re on that side”, “I can’t do this” “they can do that” - “it’s not fair” “why me?”.
Please! There are more important things to worry about than which side of the road/line/boundary you happen to have lived on for years and years.

yeah. I never knew for ages but then you are talking to someone who didn’t know Marc Almond from soft Cell was gay until recent times.

Well that's a pretty poor post even for Watford then

Maybe I'd better reconsider my comment about living in a tolerant country

Disappointing Watford
