Christmas trees piiss me off. They always did. I have a aversion to them. They're horrible, evil things.

The first time I saw a Christmas tree, I thought it was some kind of monster. I was about 2 years old.

Maybe it's stayed with me.

Gonna go for a wander round town.

always take the kids in town Xmas Eve bit of shoppping and then in pub for a full English and a few pints.
Not happening this year is it!
There should be special pubs allowed to open if you’ve had covid l!
Bit of an announcement on here but I’ve had it!

I was in Beverley yesterday, normally a great place to be at Christmas, but it was all a bit gloomy. There's normally people wandering pub to pub, buying last minute presents for far more than they meant to spend as they've had a few too many and plenty of old mates to bump into. This time it was just cold and wet, with all eating and drinking places obviously shut and very few people in the shops that were open.

I went to Hull on Saturday and went to park on the top floor at St Stephens and I was the only car there, the last Saturday before Christmas and the place was empty. It got busier by the time we left in the afternoon, but it still wasn't anything like Christmas. Grim times for hospitality and retail.

Maybe it's because the story of Jesus was actually a pretty common story that appeared in much earlier times in Persian, Greek, Roman, Egyptian and other story telling? So maybe it's a picture of say the Greek's Yeshua or Dionysus or the Sun God Mithras, or one of many who were crucified in those times?
What is crazy is that some people still believe this utter nonsense 2 thousand years later, even though historians confirm it's all made up nonsense based on myths from centuries earlier!
Anyway, logging off now. I need to track Santa's journey. He's setting off shortly.

Aye, they should get back to the true spirit of the season, and celebrate Santa's birthday. I mean, who has ever wished jesus happy birthday, never mind got him a present, or even a card.

Thought I'd better get my Christmas greeting in before ya all get to pished!! Merry Christmas one and all, young, not so young, across the miles and not forgetting absent friends and family, cheers, best wishes to all. Seasons greetings, big hugs to all, but particularly those feeling vulnerable, missing loved ones and people on their own.
