EFL eye up Sunderland's Jim Rodwell for new chief
Sunderland's Jim Rodwell is wanted by the EFL to replace outgoing chief executive Dave Baldwin, who will leave next year after less than 12 months in the job.
Rodwell was previously a director of the EFL while in charge at Scunthorpe before moving to Sunderland. There he has been instrumental in negotiating the club's imminent takeover by Uruguayan businessman Juan Sartori and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, son of former Marseille owner Robert Dreyfus.

By this it doesn’t sound like Dreyfus has even spoken to L. Johnson. So the interview story yesterday doesn’t appear right or the chronicle are putting a spin on it. Stewart Donald very much involved by this.

I've decided to start concentrating on the football now tbh mate, we've had two years of intrigue and speculation.
What we need is a proper structure, recruitment and some decent football ...

I just think you have got to look at the last couple of weeks to tell you what is happening. We sack a manager who has over a year left on his contract, appoint a Sporting Director and then a head coach. There is a brand new management structure on the footballing signs taking shape, I think if you are looking in from the outside it looks apparent that the new owner(s) in waiting are making these decisions as all this takes Money and vision, that is something that our current owner has not got any of
Obviously Rodders has been a terrific CEO, once we’ve received our £2m compensation fee we’ll just have to do our best without him
I don't see how we could accept less than 4m given the period of stunning growth and prosperity he has overseen.

Awaiting imminent meltdown because the current actual owner spoke to the newly appointed manager. Until the shares and ownership changes, it would be silly not to do so.

After speaking to my mate who’s on Leeds Utd staff over the weekend he’s told me how highly rated our new SpD Speakman is and that he’s heard that Sunderland are “going to give it a right go”, left me feeling optimistic even after a defeat to Wigan at the weekend!
Yeah, no way Donald is just handing everything over entirely until he has officially passed on control of the club. Incompetent he might be but he doesn't have an actual intellectual disability. He still has plenty invested in the club moving in the right direction.
I don't think we need to worry too much about his involvement.
'Give it a right go' is all we want to hear......they do that and we have a very good chance to get back up to the top table

I agree with Disco though, I watched Sunderland through the 70's and never once cared, probably even knew, who was in the boardroom ... we all know too much these days and think too much into situations.
People have convinced themselves there's no takeover and I've no intention of spending months discussing. Times are difficult enough and I just want to be a daft football supporter again.
