Precisely what I have been told

So based on what you guys are saying we are looking at:

Burge / Matthews

McLaughlin
Wright
Flanagan
Hume

leadbitter
Scowen
Power

mcgeady
Maguire
Grigg

?

Would prefer Sanderson but otherwise that’s decent.

although there will already be the negative nancies saying he’s dropping Embleton for a half fit pensioner. Which would take the benefit of McGeady completely out of context of course

Agree, his sacking on Sun and he hiring Of Speakman gave me hope, but I still believe what I’m being told. We don’t know Speakman’s circumstances at Birmingham. We don’t know what he’s been told. As I’ve always said I hope I’m wrong, but 6 months later and still no takeover.

But if you honestly don’t think the 3 stooges are amateurish and this glosses over the horrific 3 season they’ve over seen them you’re easily pleased. Their handling of the club is disgusting

Why do you insist on suggesting that SD,CM and JS are all on the same page going forward in all of this?

See on twitter apparently Embleton has been pulled from the first team and Mcgeady is starting, be interesting if that has happened, be a big decision from Johnson

Just seen the post from above my bad

reet, the lad is in the door...welcome to sunderland Lee, may your stay be long and fruitful.

brave jump in from the manager, it seems a few more are thinking the same as myself here, that he has known for a while that the job 'was his' and has been given time to look a few things over and to prepare, if so then that is surely a good sign from the 'ownership group' that there is going to be a lot of early thinking and planning going on and less of the snap decisions that have cost the club in recent years (SD and his player negotiating 'skills' for example)...hope i am wrong but i get the feeling it may take him a wee while to get the players into the right mindset, seems a few have become comfortable in giving less than 100%.

not long till the window but enough time for him to see where the team can be improved, so hoping for a storming 2nd half of the season.

If he's taking charge of the team today, it'll be really interesting to see what kind of team he sends out. Does he play 3 at the back still? Back 4? Who's in midfield and up front? Does he play the kids like Embleton, Diamond straight away? Is McGeady straight in or on the bench? Can't wait!!! I think this match could be a free hit for him. As fans we want him to win but has he actually taken any training yesterday to give the players an idea of how he wants them to play
I think he has probably watched videos of some of our games so won’t be going in blind. Pity he will be without the injured players though.

I'm hoping for a mentality change more than anything else

for me - Johnson taking charge straight away is an immediate mentality change and excellent leadership.

It’s proactive, it’s aggressive.

for 2.5 years in this division we’ve get like a team reluctantly turning up and hoping to get a few goals. The mentality already feels like it’s shifted towards attacking the division.

now I might be getting carried away and reading too much into it. But it’s all about mindset. So if I’m doing it, hopefully the players are too

As the fans of Barnsley and Bristol on rtg:

"he’s a record breaking head coach, he’s responsible for the longest losing runs, in the history of both Bristol and Barnsley. And he’s a bellender"

"I quite like Sunderland, so I reallyyyyyy hope you don't get him.

Not only is he a terrible manager - eight League One defeats in a row, with an FA Cup exit (deserved on the balance of play) to Altrincham - but he's also a snake."

I'm not writing him off but I don't see him the ideal appointment, not even close.
Very please with the set up on the whole.

Wonder what they mean by that snake comment. That's not exactly ideal.

Interesting to see how divided opinion is on him.

I don't know what to think at all.

Precisely my point. Watch it be 0-0 haha

Comes across really well in his interview:

  • Likes the high press
  • Suffocates the opposition
  • Plays fast forward footy but not long.
  • Bailey Wright and Scowen may be key to him as he has worked with them.

Hope he makes BW captain and drops Power
