Lost count how many times I've seen them, but when they played at the academy in 2008, it took about a week to get my hearing back to normal. It was LOUD.
I miss my annual 3 day deaf spell....

believe it or not, i saw them at reading and figured they would sound pretty much the same as the other bands being an outside venue...feck me they blasted the rest away, just a wall of noise...
Has no-one mentioned Sabbath yet? Are you all quite mad? The best of a great bunch by a country mile.
Also, hats off to a late-70s Judas Priest, who were phenomenal live.

Not much Zeppelin either. My favourite band.
so many great bands from then man, impossible to name them all...'up and coming' bands of the time that i really thought would make the grade were White Spirit and Limelight...Spirit had their big day at Reading then Janick left them for Gillan and never heard them again so presume they folded, no idea how Limelight never got further than 'club band', apparently played until quite recently when one of the brothers passed.
my one possible regret from those days?...at the Mecca one friday and got offered tickets for Reading and Knebworth but could only really afford one...chose Reading as (to me at the time), the price V amount of bands to see made it a no brainer...unfortunately, led zep were the Knebworth band but i figured they were so big they would be going forever...never did get to see them

Uiah Heep 1st big well known band i saw. Sabbath, Free, Cream, Mountain were my favourite bands along with Floyd & Genesis although a slightly different style of music.
I like many music genres ranging from classic to punk, but heavy metal is one of the few I can't get away with. Mind I like it better than rap, grunge and house music though.
Ozzy era sabbath were always my favourite, but split before I was old enough to be allowed to go to gigs. Their first 6 albums are superb, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath being the first album I ever bought. I even like technical ecstasy, but never took to never say die (though, Juniors Eyes is a good track).
I did see Ozzy a couple of times, Speak of the Devil and Bark at the Moon tours.
Heaven and Hell album was excellent, actually one of their best, and Mob Rules was a decent follow up. I think they went downhill from there though, the album with Gillan was a shocker.....
I eventually got to see them (minus Bill Ward) in 2017 on their "The End" tour. A dream come true for me, and they were superb.
Sabbath were on the City Hall. I couldnt get a tkt. A lad at college had one to sell and I bought it for a weeks wages, £24 at the time. The b*stards cancelled a few weeks later. I got the face value of the tkt haha. I did get to see them a short while later though. War Pigs, Iron Man and of course Paranoid were superb. I think Iommi was underated at the time as a guitarist.
I also had Masters of Reality. Both sides 2. I am sure my mate "borrowed" it and flogged it to Spinning Disk for novelty value.

Most Spinal tap like band, probably Saxon although I thought they were ok when I saw them at the city hall.
Got my 'Strangers In The Night' album autographed by the band at HMV on High St. Unfortunately, it was Chapman, not Schenker.

I agree that they slumped after Stargazer (amazing track), but thought they picked up when Joe Lynn Turner came on board.
