Parkinson has made no progress within the last 12 months, current board have little to no confidence that he will get us promoted or where we need to be on recent performances (this a big worry/concern) for current and new owners.

Recruitment by Parkinson also not seen as added enough value or benefit to the team as of yet..another concern.

New owners will want to push their own plan/agenda including a new manager.

If Parkinson is in charge and results/position not where we need to be concern huge fans uproar...seeing signs now on social media...new people don't want this problem.

If,as we think, the new owners have already identified their management team, which, let's face it,they must have done, then they will have confidence in them to produce the performances on the pitch. They will have January to shake things up a bit if they want to.I suppose the plus point is we are not in a bad position at the present time from which to kick start, provided they get the deal done and get on with it. Given Parky's recent demeanour, results are bound to worsen if the whole thing drifts on for much longer.

Also, any official takeover news/confirmation i would say now more a few weeks away than days. (This will now give them the time/space not to rush things)

Joint decision by seller's/buyers to not cancel meeting but to postpone meeting. Keep an eye out for when its rearranged...

I really hope a few weeks doesn't turn into a month or more.

Announced tomorrow by salma with Pamela anderson manning the lifeguard station on roker beach with Lopez giving noshes out the back of pizazz, Penelope Cruz will be ****ing off anybody wearing a retro top and billy storey will be getting rattled by a pineapple little Nicky style
You know, we've all been going on about Salma for ages now. But I've just found out she's married to the bloke that owns Rennes (has this been mentioned before and I,'ve just missed it?) so maybe its not that far fetched! Here's hoping anyway.

It'd also not go down well if we switched managers and started slipping down the table with little chance to turn it around in January because of the wage restrictions.

Nobody's impressed with Parky or wants him to stay in the long term but we are only a point away from automatic promotion, with a game in hand. Depends who they've got lined up and how confident they are they'd be a hit from the start.
I’d like to think that whoever is lined up has already been looking at what he’s got to work with and putting a plan together to hit the ground running

If the options were to stick with Parkinson in the hope that he gets us promoted, then expect him to build something for the Championship and "suffer" him in there or take the risk of appointing someone new with a long term vision of taking us back up to the Premier League at the risk of no promotion this season , then I will go for the latter. Even then I think the risk of no promotion is more likely with Parkinson. The players aren't giving their all, he's managed to bring in a worse goalkeeper than last seasons second choice and two worse strikers than Charlie Wyke.

Its a perplexing riddle, wrapped in a mystery resulting in an enigma.

They seek them here they seek them there..

The damned elusive new owners.

We must have new owners soon, Jurassic has to go, his tactics and players he has brought in are disastrous.

The new manager has to have January's window to dump dross, ie several strikers and to bring a couple of pacy forwards.

I am not ITK, but I can identify what the club obviously needs. I did not buy Tuesday's game to watch, although by the sounds of it the 1st half was good and some young players showed promise. I know my ties in supporting the club are loosening, partly due to not attending matches true, but also due to being at our lowest ebb ever, due to crap players, manager and performances.

I'm sure they would, still got to be the right person though. They might be thinking Garry Monk would be mint because he's consistently managed at a higher level but he wouldn't fill me with confidence.

It's essential mate. You could easily argue that the next managerial appointment is the most important in the history of this club.

Big Sam for me.
Big Sam has already stated live on talk sport some time ago that it is extremely unlikely that he would return to Sunderland as a manager. Thats not to say he would not accept a director of football role. In my opinion we need a manager who can build and mould a club not just a team and start us back on the right path. Put the correct foundations in for success and start to slowly turn this rudderless giant ship around.

The problem really is that its been played out in public again when compared to when SD arrived and more recently Derby.

I can understand why as its at the top of the fans priority list so the club had to mention its existence or the fan base would have exploded.

But if we didn't know about it, it would avoid this clamour for end of the month, then the 10th etc etc.

However now we do know its another kick in the bollocks that its going to a few more weeks!

With the way the team are playing, with Parky in charge, that gap is only going to increase.

That's precisely what we need. If you look at clubs like Ajax, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, the Liverpool of old, that's how they operate. That will only happen if the new owners know what they're doing though.

The only public taking any real notice of it are the fans mate. Mainstream media, even in the region, isn't giving it much air time,if any.

To me it's one of two things:

1. A takeover, exactly as it says in the official club tweet and as most people believe.
2. To "kick the can down the road", keep us believing there is a takeover and that their valuation is a realistic one, and the Madrox debt being written off is no problem to prospective buyers. Keep the fans onside knowing that the best chance of getting their price is upon promotion this season.

With their history of blatantly lying to us and changing their story I'm believing number 2. All the itk are well intentioned, but since none know who the buyer is, they are getting their info from the seller.
I can just about understand your opinion but if it was just to kick the can down the road do you not think that they would like to keep the door open to any prospective buyers ??? The statement basically says that the club is at a sensitive stage regarding a takeover so if they were delaying tactics surely the club would not want to decrease their saleability by telling everybody that so the kicking the can down the road does not make much sense commercially for a club that the majority shareholder has stated is up for sale

This huge convoluted conspiracy theory ...

... about setting up Nick Barnes, leaking fake info to people, talking about NDAs, Donald distancing himself from the club, etc etc etc.
All this to 'keep the supporters from saying things on forums'.

FFS, what a crock of shyte. For one thing it hasn't stopped people saying things on forums so it would've all been a totally predictable waste of time.
In fact it's probably made things worse.

Secondly it would've been much easier, if Donald doesn't want to sell, for the club to issue a simple statement.

"This is the situation, I'm doing my best, let's all pull together, take it or leave it."

Instead some people choose to believe there's a massive tissue of lies being spun out by the owners, the CEO, Jones, the manager, etc.

It's more likely Donald, as he said from the start, is trying to sell the club for a profit ...

... but I expect that's not dramatic enough for some.
