Just seen myself behind the goal in north stand against qpr,was only 9!!!! And ive still got the very same wooly hat!!!! ...what a team we had then, how we never got in the first division is still beyond me!!!
Rumour has it Cliff Britton, when asked by Harold Needler, said he didn't need any money to shore up City's sometimes leaky defence. May have tipped the balance? Who knows.
The Ex Tigers game v Emmerdale and Hollyoaks cast has obviously had to be cancelled on Sunday due to the latest lockdown, it has now been rescheduled for the 13th December at North Cave playing fields still 1pm KO.
What season do you reckon that was? I remember my older brother took me to first two games in quick succession vs Cardiff and then QPR. I'm sure these were in Terry Neill's first season, so 1970 (I'd have been 8). Is this QPR clip the same game?
Its the Brentford FA Cup game 1970/71 ? They were a league below us and were beating us 1-0 up to about the 80 mins ( from memory all this and I do get the 65/66 season mixed up with the 70/71, so it could even have been 65/66) It would have been a major shock if they had of pulled it off but Chilton equalised late on and I think Ken Houghton scored the winner soon after. It was Brentford's cup final and the furthest they had even been in the FA Cup and they brought a lot of fans. If you ever get the chance look up the Leicester league game from season the 70/71, City won 3-0, 'Terrys Tigers Topple Table Toppers' and have a look at Chillo's headed goal, past Peter Shilton, from just inside the Leicester penalty area, South Stand end.
