MH seems to be on the increase - stressful life, drugs, alcohol, who knows? - and as you say, Stainsey, you have to make allowances, while making sure you and your colleagues stay safe. The sexual stuff against young, female emergency workers is unacceptable, particularly if there's malice behind it. What's shocked me is the increasing number of low lives that go out of their way to injure coppers, or throw bricks through fire engine or ambulance windows. These criminals need to be tracked down (hopefully using video evidence) and locked up on a serious sentence.
That's a cynical attitude, Watford, but you could be right on timing. It's clearly a policy that will go down well with most law abiding members of the public. Either way, it's vital this is pushed through and not shoved into the long grass again
Well yeah not many people are going to oppose scummy people getting prison sentences for being scummy. I doubt with the crazy backlog of court cases pre-Covid let alone now and prison capacity that it will have much actual impact. But I am cynical.
I think most, if not all, of us in the Emergency Services give MH sufferers a hell of a lot of slack when it comes to their behaviour. Don’t get me wrong, some are vile, but most really arent in control of their actions. My lad (OB) was attacked by one the other day and was spat at, but like me he just took it on the chin (literally) and made no more of it. On your other point, it is always a problem around bonfire night and Diwali, when we get fireworks thrown at the trucks. A good reason, in my opinion, for banning them being sold to individuals
I’m going to assume this relates to fireworks. They’re a bit lame. Negatives outweigh the positives for me. **** for dogs although mine seems fine with them and gives scrotes an outlet to display their chavviness endangering themselves and others. The 1% who launch one at an ambulance or set their house on fire isn’t really worth it.
Problem is the fireworks that get sold now can be ****ing lethal and are more akin to grenades (I’m not talking about the Tesco party pack ones). When I started out we went to a fella who was lighting fireworks in the park with his mates after drinking heavily and smoking large amounts of weed. He forgot to let go of the rocket he was holding and literally blew his hand apart.....’degloving’ every finger and exposing bone and tendons. We had a great conversation about Netflix and what to watch in the way to hospital. I think he lost his hand (or what was left of it)
Priti is not just going to grass you up in your garden, she's going to grass you up if you say "hello, how are you" whilst passing on the street I wonder how this will go down with the tory faithful
Too busy bending themselves into all sorts of shapes to justify her backing the breaking of international law to condemn her for not backing the breaking of domestic law.
As the father of a Scottish student, I'd like to let you know this cretin is an extreme minority, crying out for attention
We're having a family get together at home this weekend and there'll be eleven of us. Just in case any of my neighbours are grasses, I'm going to release some grouse in the garden.
A good speech by Starmer today to the TUC conference, glowingly praised by Len McCluskey no less. His condemnation of Fire and Re-Hire should please @Staines R's. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/ukne...ling-of-coronavirus/ar-BB1941gL?ocid=msedgdhp
