Le Tissier always seemed like the only member of the Sky team who had more than the brains that he was born with, so it doesn't surprise me that he was able to see through the mawkish puff and bluster and recognise the reality of who Black Lives Matter are, what they really wish to achieve as an organisation, who funds them and why. Fair play to him for not kowtowing
Well said <ok>

People take too much notice of Twitter, everyday the **** trending & 2 different sides of the argument, giving abuse to each other, thinking their comments will make a difference, when at some point, it’s just going to tip a loon over the edge to go murder a bunch of people for no other reason than they disagreed with someone.
The media will of course have their say, & depending on who’s being murdered & who’s doing the murdering, then the media will spin it into whichever way makes the most noise on Twitter.
Also, why would anyone think Dr Le Tissier knows anything anyway. Everyone’s got their view on everything, but not everyone wants to shout it from the rooftops.

There's loads of **** ones, Phil Thompson was so irritating. Anyone know how Peter Crouch gets his own show? Robbie Savage, Garth Crooks, Lawrenson!
Phil Thompson maybe has an irritating scouse voice to some
But let’s look at his credentials to be a pundit
Played under two of the three greatest managers in British history. Shankly and Paisley. Lifted the European cup for his home town club, captained england
Marshalled the defence of Liverpool and England.
coached at youth level to first team level at a top club before going into punditry.
his replacement
Micah Richards
Potential at 18 washed up at what 24
Done **** all Since
Laughs a lot
Has no idea about tactics organisation of a defence How to stop a team playing.
Yep I can see why

This thread is educational in a 'those that can, do' and those that can't 'teach'. kind of way.

In a bit, I'll sort you all out into 'made the school team' versus 'asked if they were any good at Hockey'.

Though the principal of having pundits who've been good at what they're discussing is a perfectly reasonable one, I'd personally far rather listen to someone like Jon Parkin, than Phil Thompson. Nothing to do with his Scouse accent, I just don't think he was a very good pundit.

Michael Owen won pretty much everything, at club level and at International level, even the Ballon d'Or, but he's the worst pundit that ever lived.

That said, there's plenty I'd rather have seen sacked ahead of these three, Garth Crooks topping that list.

Warwick Davis would be good but understand Ehab is signing him up as our new goalkeeper.

Add Carragher to that list (and McManaman to a lesser degree).
What is the obsession with those scousers.
And yes, let's be right, part but not all of it is their stupid annoying accents.

Isn’t it a democracy? Can’t he give his opinion?
I’ve no idea what he said but he should be allowed to say whatever the **** he likes. As long as he wasn’t racist or sexist
..or deliberately undermining public health messaging to the point it could encourage people to act in a dangerous way, and ultimately kill someone. (EDIT - I don’t know what he said either. I was just adding to the list, not saying that’s what he did)

Of course he can say what he wants, that’s free speech, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t come without consequences when you’re contract is being looked at to be decided whether they want to give you a new one or not. Same in most jobs where what you say literally is your job (if he’d been working there as a camera operator I’d think it would be unreasonable to pay much attention to his views...but he wasn’t)

Before the thread gets locked I’d be interested in this autopsy Erik mentions?
Without getting embroiled in the politics, both because it would get deleted and I wouldn't want to anyway, essentially there were two autopsies, one commissioned privately by his family and then one by the state coroner.

Both show that he had various underlying health conditions, that he had taken drugs, but (and this is where it gets thorny) both essentially agree that he died due to asphyxiation. It's just the private one is explicit about this, whereas the state one is slightly more equivocal, though it categorically doesn't say that he wasn't asphyxiated, contrary to some very selective reporting by some parties.

You can google and find screechy diatribes from both sides, but to me this one seems pretty fair:
