Doesn’t everyone though mate? Is a chief exec going after sponsors any different?

Just happens he’s got better access within the game.
I reckon David Jones due to his experience and contacts will be an invaluable sounding board to the existing staff as well as anyone taking over the club , I think his love for the club is very much a bonus that most clubs will envy . On his appointment he talked about the need to improve the recruitment and the Academy which most SAFC will certainly agree with .
See what you're saying. While I think that having the humility to accept that someone outside of the set up might have a skill set/contacts that the club requires is a good thing, I can't help but feel that, because Jones' main priority will continue to be broadcasting, there is an element of hand-holding in his role with SAFC. A kind of admission that no one in Donald's inner circle has the wherewithal to run a recruitment strategy

Would love to know Jones thoughts on how the place was being run once he had had a chance to have a good look around
Given his recent comments on how things need to change not sure he'd be very complimentary

Would be very interesting to hear his thoughts. Sounds like the whole set up had been a shambles. Mind, just watching Hill and Coton on STID speaks volumes.

His comment on that breakfast talk wasalong the lines of 'we've stumbled from transfer window to window'. No coherent plan and just picking up what's left. Think he'll be here for the long haul personally; excellent spokesperson, cracking contacts, has the club's best interests at heart and comes across as being completely genuine. You'd be ****ing mental to take us over and sack him and I'm canny certain our potential new owners are far from mental.

Well, they must be a bit mental to be buying us but you get what I mean.

I think he has taken things steady but now he has taken stock of what he has seen and now Donald has essentially gone he is starting to become much more involved . He would appear to have been quite involved in the recruitment side of things which seems to be working , anything or anyone has to be an improvement on the chuckle brothers Coton and Hill . Two or three key signings should do the trick as I like the look of the squad up to present but as this season is compressed we need strength in numbers .

Jones is one of the main reason cotton and hill have gone, he’s come in and massively shaken things up, I can see him being here for the long haul
Great stuff. Are the new lads keen on keeping him on? Maybe increasing his influence?

I’m sorry but change is needed immensely. Staff are still on furlough till the end of the month and I know this as someone I know works at the academy. So we have no club shop open, no sales apart from online, no income basically. We need the shops open to support our revenue. Appears like they don’t give a toss. We haven’t even got an away shirt advertisement ffs

I expect the away shirt to be released....within the next fortnight.

I’m hoping that Jones stays for a long time, hopefully the prospective new owners see what an asset he will be.

Hopefully the takeover will be done and dusted soon, although I’m still trying to not get carried away :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

That's all good news imo mate ...

... I've been told Donald has finally buckled and this would all confirm it.

Ahh Chris Weatherspoon, the WMS finance guy.

Don't believe Roker Report had a specialist in that area in their fanzine, they have Connor Bromley back but.....yeah.

I'd be happy to see the back of Sloanes and Jones, if the takeover goes ahead. Don't need derogatory comments made about the fans, from someone in such power at the club.

Jones, ehh give or take to be honest.

Sorry wrong podcast and I think Oliver’s Army has confirmed it was SD who slated him and not Sloanes.

Speaking of Connor Bromley, I wonder if he’ll comment about his time at the club or if he’s restricted by an NDA post leaving employment with the club. I know he did the Gus interview but don’t think he was on the last discussion pod.
