Hopefully at this afternoon’s press conference someone will ask how many consultations have been held to date through the world beating test and trace system which went fully and definitively live on Thursday, ie the number of people who have tested positive, been contacted by the highly trained workforce (search on the laughable nature of this training), given over the names and contact details of those they have been within 2 metres of for 15 minutes, and all those contacts who have also received call from the world beating system.
Judging by the news reports the answer will be zero, because the system doesn’t work, the people meant to do the talking have been sitting staring at a screen waiting for cases to be assigned for the princely sum of £10 an hour, and no cases have been assigned. Even though yesterday there were around 2000 newly tested cases, according to the government. None of these people have been contacted.
The question probably won’t be asked, and I’m sure the information won’t be shared. It will disappear like the international comparisons, number of people tested, number of people who have recovered, number of people in critical condition (very different to the number of ICU beds occupied by COVID patients) etc etc.
Still, great leadership by the world beating team which thinks a sixty mile round trip behind the wheel of a car with your family onboard is an acceptable way to test your eyesight. When you have been having problems with your eyesight.
