Yup, is it too cynical to suggest they are more than happy not to give up their current 80% wage, 0% work deal? They wouldn't be flocking to the beaches in these numbers on a normal Wednesday in May. But the government has given them carte Blanche to do just that.
Pretty much as I said I believe, I personally think that when all the dust settles that the UK will have done a shed load better than most on here have predicted.
If ever proof was needed that Khan is a total c*nt it's this. I'm so glad I packed in driving with decisions being made that go against all logic. In the 8 years I worked as a driver London's roads have become a gridlocked joke and Khan has devastated the Black Cabs and this will see off a lot of private hire, RIP...
Love her or loathe her, Nicola Sturgeon has set out the road map for our way out of the lockdown up here. She's broken it down into four phases, starting with the first phase next week, then reviewing every three weeks to see if we can move to the next phase. The phases are: Phase 1: Virus not yet contained but cases are falling. From 28 May you should be able to meet another household outside in small numbers. Sunbathing is allowed, along with some outdoor activities like golf and fishing. Garden centres and drive-through takeaways can reopen, some outdoor work can resume, and childminding services can begin. Phase 2: Virus controlled. You can meet larger groups outdoors, and meet another household indoors. Construction, factories, warehouses, laboratories and small shops can resume work. Playgrounds and sports courts can reopen, and professional sport can begin again. Phase 3: Virus suppressed. You can meet people from more than one household indoors. Non-essential offices would reopen, along with gyms, museums, libraries, cinemas, larger shops, pubs, restaurants, hairdressers and dentists. Live events could take place with restricted numbers and physical distancing restrictions. Schools should reopen from 11 August. Phase 4: Virus no longer a significant threat. University and college campuses can reopen in full, mass gatherings are allowed. All workplaces open and public transport is back at full capacity.
Yeah have to say I don’t get that one. As long as the cab is set up for contactless which they pretty much all are now it’s about as safe a method of travel as possible.
The schools are to re-open on August 11th which is when they go back after summer holiday up here. However, the schools will be using a phased re-introduction, with some days in school and some days home schooling to allow reduced class sizes for social distancing
It's actually a bigger danger to passengers as a driver that contracts the virus may have little or any symptoms and then be spreading it to so many, unbelievable...
Scottish Government not getting everything right though - first the cover up of the Nike conference, and now accusations of them emptying the hospitals of old folks into care homes.... GUILTY AS DISCHARGED Nearly 1000 hospital patients sent to Scots care homes before mandatory testing started amid fears it fuelled death rate ALMOST 1,000 hospital patients were sent to care homes at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic before mandatory testing kicked in, it emerged last night. The shock tally - for March only - dwarfs a figure of around 300 to April 15 that Health Secretary Jeane Freeman had previously suggested. And the actual number sent to care homes could be even higher - as the the Scottish Government had still not revealed figures for April onwards. The revelation sparked an outcry due to the huge gap between the 921 confirmed last night, and the 300 Ms Freeman and the Scottish Government had previously indicated. There are fears that emptying wards of elderly patients at the start of the pandemic - in case beds were needed for coronavirus patients - fuelled the virus spread into care homes, where 1,623 have now died. Tory shadow health secretary Miles Briggs said: "These figures suggest Jeane Freeman is guilty of misleading the public on this national scandal. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/ne...d-care-homes-testing-hospitals-jeane-freeman/ If it wasn't so serious, it's almost funny how the Scottish Tories try to point the finger at the SNP, for doing exactly the same as the Tory party in England have been doing!
Had an email from the twins school. They are opening for year 1 and reception in 1st June and year 6 on 8th June. You don’t have to send your kids and there is gonna be a max of 15 to each class. Social distancing measures will be drummed into the kids as will hand washing. Pretty sensible imho.. Obviously mine are going back
Mate I’ve had so many problems with her....lovely one minute...a monster the next. Been a real struggle last year.....hoping we are on the right path now
@bobmid I was sent this today - don't know if you, or anyone else will find this useful, but there are guides on how to safely get back to work, with risk assessments, a re-occupation assessment tool and a return to work plan. https://www.praxis42.com/covid-19-support/
