No new cases in London in the last 24 hours.

That's because we've all already had it, get the bleeding pubs open.

    Why?

There will be many who will want to remain locked away, but that shouldn't stop the rest of us getting the economy moving.

Think we need a three week run after the tubes were packed for the first time to make that call.

Can anyone recall at what number of deaths Johnson called this a success? I just wonder if he classes it as even more successful with the increase since then.

Sadly the number of deaths in UK care homes has gone up significantly since that report was published, more than doubled in fact. And besides, if deaths in our care homes are lower than the EU average it means that deaths in hospital are far higher. Guido doesn’t hide his bias though, the little scallywag.
We are comfortably top of the excess deaths over the 5 year average league table, and pulling away!
    1. U.K. Excess deaths 55k, 67% higher than average
    2. Belgium 8k, 57%
    3. Spain 30k 44%
    4. Italy 25k 38%
    5. Sweden 4k 30%
    6. France 24k 22%
    7. Germany 6k 7%

ONS survey of 15,000 people estimates 137,000 people are infected in the community

    King’s COVID19 app with 3.5m users estimates 276,000

It's absolutely awful, isn't it. How anyone can stick up for this government, after all this? They need their heads examined.

Yep our lockdown was so poorly executed, was too late coming and when it did was bizarrely phased over several days. Now we are releasing too soon and with the vague guidance on what you can do and where you can do it, the number of cases is sure to pick up again in a couple of weeks. Drives me ****ing mad allowing people to beaches for example but at the same time vaguely suggesting people don't go to them. Every day is basically a bank holiday now so these places are filling up with morons. I don't see how you can spin their handling of this in a positive way, I truly don't know what their aim is.
