Positive for the government alert! They’ve changed the bereavement scheme to include more NHS staff rather than just doctors and nurses. The negative of course that they were dragged kicking and screaming to do it and it should have been that way in the first place and they’re going ahead with charging people £624 on a mediocre salary for the pleasure of trying to stop you and I dying. The EU’s numbers show that the prevalence of deaths in UK care homes is comparatively lower as a percentage than in other European countries. Even if it is, think about it. If we’d had fewer deaths outside of care homes as we should have our percentage would be higher.

Came in in 2015. The problem is firstly it’s a huge arbitrary amount to expect someone to pay to fill an industry we are painfully short in domestically. Does it really need to go up another 50%+? Seems desperately unfair on people already paying tax and NI. Hardly a perk of the job.
