"Can they bring in a business contact to run it? Should they go to a football man?"

My info was, and still is, that it's one of each with the businessman also being a football man.

If it turned out to be the 2 mentioned I'd be very happy as one in particular would be seen as solid and given a lot of time by the support ...

... in fact he's the complete opposite of Donald and Methven.

Could do with someone like Brian Marwood...football man, Sunderland supporter and been one of the top deal makers at Man City......dunno if hes still there but he would be the man I would go for (wish I still had his number id ask him...I wired an extension out for him about 15 years ago!)

The thing is that if FPP were in charge, and we were in the Championship, we could be thinking about these type of appointments and there's an outside chance of getting them. Realistically, it's a bigger ask to get people to drop down two divisions even with wealthy owners.

That's why I think promotion next season will make or break FPP's intentions with us, if we aren't sold this summer to someone else.

my concern is they will sell to anybody who gives them a cheeky profit. They desperately want out hence the two failed sales already

Agree. If I'd invested 12 million dollars in something and saw one of the execs put out a statement like that I wouldn't be impressed at all.

For what its worth, my best interpretation of the echo article was that if FFP buy, they will by Madrox, but if someone else buys, Madrox will sell them Sunderland (debt free, of course).

Also from the echo article it looks like the inter club debt will be repaid if Madrox keeps Sunderland, but won't be if it's sold - I think that's pretty much what it says, but you have to read really carefully to try to work it out, and then its still open to interpretation.

That's really bad though, as didn't they want to keep Donald originally (but not necessarily Methven)?

According to Donald they wanted him, who knows.

I don't know what he has to offer tbh.

I certainly wouldn't invest £10M in the bloke.

He has nothing to offer unfortunately.

I've gave him benefit of doubt but they are well out of their depth and have been even before FPP turned up.

I believe this is right. On the one hand, they say they'll repay all of the parachute money that they used (they giveth) and on the other, they say that if we're sold, all the money will go them and they'll sort it out between themselves (they taketh away).

I think we can roundly assume that they won't be clamouring to pay back a ****ing penny of the money they owe to the club. I'm also assuming that they'll take money back out of the club (you know, that £11.5m they 'invested' in us) to pay off FPP as part of a sale, rendering the amounts they've supposedly put in completely meaningless.
