I agree, it's simple, it addresses the problem directly and it's great PR. It'll be interesting to see what happens come end-June though. That's exactly how it should be done

Fantastic point from Georgie Bingham on TS. She said, that any club seeking financial assistance from the government and ultimately the tax payer SHOULD NOT be allowed into the transfer window. If they cannot afford to pay furloughed staff wages, they cannot afford agents fees, signing on fees etc. Cascarino was quick to back her up and said that they wouldn't sign up for it if that was the case... I'm trying to upload the clip..
AS Roma players and staff ALL agree to go without wages for 4 months....... meanwhile in England.,...!!!!
Any idea if the 'normal' staff on furlough are getting paid their full wage?Hull City are hopeful of finally reaching a resolution with their players over a wage deferral following further talks in recent days.
Vice chairman Ehab Allam has been in negotiations with the playing staff regarding a proposed cut to their salary, with a compromise thought to be edging ever closer.
Many Championship clubs across the country are currently speaking to their players, with City believed to be among a group bypassing the PFA and dealing with their players directly to reach an amicable solution.
Ehab Allam wrote to all staff, including players, at the start of this month to warn that measures needed to be taken to “safeguard jobs and avoid any compulsory redundancies.”
While City have placed many staff on furlough and both Grant McCann and his coaching staff have accepted a wage cut, the players, like many across the league, are yet to agree on terms of any sort of salary sacrifice.
It is understood Allam’s initial request that all playing staff take a 20 per cent pay cut in line with furloughed workers is now off the table and the discussions being held are regarding a deferred wage cut.
It’s not a reduction it’s a defermentAny idea if the 'normal' staff on furlough are getting paid their full wage?
Hope so
If the are only getting 80% then the players should demand their reduction goes straight to the other staff
it isn't anything yet, they haven't agreed itIt’s not a reduction it’s a deferment
You’re struggling with this player contract stuff
Doesn’t sound dark to me if ****s aren’t getting 100-300 grand a weekI have cancelled my Sky package fully, I have even received my packaging to return my Sky Q box back to them. I have a free 3 month trial for BT Sport which I can start when sport restarts again. The financial repercussions around the sport black out will be felt in 3-6 months time, I am expecting football, rugby and cricket clubs to go to the wall due to vastly reduced TV and no gate revenues. Dark days ahead I am afraid.
Wayne Rooney's weekly salary of around £100,000 per week means he takes home around a quarter of an entire team's wages from last season. You must log in or register to see images
It has been 10 weeks since this thread and just what have our top players contributed? I am not talking about the odd headline but the lack of any group effort. 10 weeks on full pay for most and as far as I have seen, little or no publicised heroic effort, nothing for the kids that support them, no advice, education, not even any funny videos. Have they all just been playing computer games or watching tv? What a sad bunch of privileged superstars. Not really it is times like these when true professional sportsmen can lift our spirits and inspire us but what do footballers do other than look after their bank balance? I am actually ashamed of supporting them.
