They agreed a 25% wage deferral in April and all have had personalised home training regimes to follow, they also took part in the #stayathomechallenge, where they put out videos of them doing the keepy-uppy bog roll thing.
Even if you ignore that fact they took a pay cut they are just workers who work for a company that has, so far, been able to pay them. They'll be going back to work soon, and probably sooner than many of them would rather
Very good that Ben. However players on £70k/week (but they defered 25% wow huge contribution) who are idols to a nation of young kids could do so much more for health, moral or education with their spare time than I ever could. So not quite the fair comparison you make it. You are right we should not hope for anything more from them.
They’ve done plenty from videos, James Milner’s self mocking is quite funny. Charity work, charity donations, providing accommodation to key workers. There’s a long list of what many have done. Tgere Their income is irrelevant isn’t it? If not have you chased the Queen & others or is it just footballers that have to raise their game?
I'm not totally up to date with tax laws, a donation to charity used to get tax relief on them, so unless it has changed any donation does get some tax break.
