my sister is a care worker, just spent 2 weeks in isolation, due to her guardianship of her grandson..

Now she has to go back work...But if someone in the home comes down with it, she has to spend 2 weeks in there..

So how the **** is that gonna work, who's gonna take care of the bairn?

If she’s on her own with the lad, then I don’t see how she can be expected to take the risk to continue working there.

I'm all good mate thanks. Been busy down here, we've got our support network set up and running now. I've got around 30 houses I'm looking after and have been doing food drops for folk and trying to organise volunteers for their patches. Seen some wonderful acts of kindness from the community. Lots of holiday home owners are offering out their homes to Health workers who need to isolate from their families. Local shops and pubs have set up home delivery services to get hot meals out to the most vulnerable.

How about you mate ? Hope you and the family are all coping okay ?

That's brilliant mate. That takes some effort and I can't begin to imagine the commitment. I bet you and those you're involved with are raising the spirits of those you're looking out for and it must mean a lot to them. Must make such a difference to know someone actually gives a **** in this day and age.

I'm ok mate. My wider commitment to the cause is looking after a few key worker kids in a school. But before you say anything, trust me, they're probably scamming it so I don't think it's making much of a difference. Going into a special school tomorrow, will feel like I'm making a difference then in some small way. I'll enjoy it as well as they're a good bunch of boys, they genuinely make me laugh with their bantz. I'll also be listening to endless talk of Zelda and overseeing whatever this is...

Yeah it was a big effort to get it all off the ground, especially given how much was changing so quickly. We've got the whole parish covered and every house has a volunteer who can help. It's already kicking into action and proving to be a total lifeline for some of the elderly and more vulnerable. And yes, great response from the community all round. I think people saw that others were wanting to help and offer their services and the whole thing snowballed. Very proud to be a part of this community down here.

Well done for doing what you are doing mate, you're a lifeline too for those workers. And kids need to be supported through this event too, there's so much changing around them and they don't always have the tools to process it all, especially the kids with special needs. So keep up the good work mate. All the best to you <ok>
