Leaving aside the doom and gloom for a bit, what did folk think of Sutton? Seemed energetic and with some reasonable skill though obviously still a way to go in terms of development.
Trouble is Bob your statement is a continual rep Not sure what your expectations are mate?Did u expect with our squad to win the league, get promoted, be mid table or get relegated? You have been very negative for months, yet the majority of us on here have watched a lot worse over the decades, that's football? I personally have enjoyed this season as I have taken my daughter to a lot of away games. The results have been the same as the last 40 years of going!! That's QPR and I would never change that
We've seen some ****e over the years but this is up there, not just today but for the whole season. All they must do in training is see how quickly they can get it back to the keeper. The whole set up is so negative. No matter where a set piece is we play it backwards (ok one forward through - in which we managed to do a foul throw). The system is negative, one upfront. Not got a holding centre forward? Who cares stick anyone up there, the balls never going to be punted that far forward anyway. This is the formation, doesn't matter who the players are. Today looked like the midfield had never met before. As for MADSON, one pass per game! The rest of the game spent trying to hide where ever possible, if the ball comes near make sure the opposition gets there a lot quicker, dangle a leg after they've already passed it. I just want to see forward passes!
How many times did we have possession on halfway, only to work the ball back to Nardi, who then booted it upfield towards a hapless Kolli? Clueless.
Well that was as dull and as boring as it gets. A few of us on here met in the pub for a couple of beers and quite frankly we should've stayed there.
I've worked around some brilliant coaches who will never, ever make it beyond semi pro level. Marti has the enthusiasm, knowledge and character but lacks the flexibility of thought. I always wonder how good a Klopp, Pep, Slott etc would be with a team like ours and in reverse how good a Marti would be with half a billion to spend.
The players we have are not cut out for the way Marti wants to play. This is where Marti comes unstuck as he doesn't seem to have another option in his armoury
It's often amazing the difference in our team in the final 20 minutes of a game as to that the rest of the time. Team selection often seems to be strange to say the least. We've occasionally had games where we've looked good and got the result but far too often we've been very poor and embarrassingly outplayed from start to finish. If money comes into the club from a deal for Eze and/or Kolli goes to Saudi would you trust Marti or whoever is bringing players in to get it right? On current outcomes I would be worried it will be more of the same. And on that subject the owners are regularly standing £20 million plus losses every season, I honestly think no more than £5 million would be available if both those deals come off. Personally I would prefer to get a manager in that has some proven success in our division but I fear they'll back Marti for next season...
He hardly saw the ball and didn’t do anything with it when he did. Unfair to judge. He did get a very rousing welcome from the crowd when he came on, of the type that used to be saved for Sinclair Armstrong. Let’s hope Sutton actually merits it eventually. What position is he meant to play? He was left wing yesterday. For some reason I thought he was a goal scoring attacker.
From QPR page: EMMERSON Sutton joined QPR at Under-12 level. He hails from Lewisham. A versatile midfield player, Emmerson's strengths include his dribbling and defending. The highlight of his career so far has been scoring three goals in a district final and subsequently being scouted by QPR.
Each to their own and I respect your opinion. I however would like more than the same results for the past few decades. Im not happy with this dross season after season. I find it hard to find too many positives hence my negativity. I would like to see progression from season to season. An ambition that this club wants to be more. An upwards direction and at the very least, a style of play that is slightly entertaining. I understand that my thoughts are a constant repetition, I can't wait for them to be not, that's not going to be down to me though I'm afraid
The Brazilian wing back is getting rave reviews in the development squad. Yes it is a jump, but managed correctly...we could have a player there
Great day out, sun, great company, a few(!) beers before and after with the Seniors, a Dembele goal, met H4H, the same poor display as the Preston game but without the brief flashes of magic Same same as they say My luck finally ran out, a defeat Not sure where we go from here, some of the oracles reckon we'll do Burnley and Sunderland as they're on the beach but I reckon 53 and out I'm certain next season will be a repeat, I like Cifuentes but we aren't really improving and mid table obscurity seems to be the Clubs (un)stated target
Not so sure about that. In the five seasons before we were crowned champions, we finished: 2005-6, 21st and very nearly relegated. 2006-7, 18th. 2007-8, 14th 2008-9, 11th 2009-10, 13th. 2010-11, Champions. You would not have predicted us being Champions from previous form. It just needs everything to align reasonably and it can happen again. In fact, it likely will happen again though as to precisely when, I could not speculate!
Ok but factor in the managers in those seasons - I'm certain one specific one made all the difference Cifuentes is not that man - a good and bad thing
More injuries and home woes for QPR against form Swans – Report - Queens Park Rangers News | Loft For Words
I'm still a Marti fan but if next year is more of the same, it will be challenging to keep the faith.
I was the game on Monday and to be honest Swans played as though there was still something on the game but I think your players appeared to be on their deckchairs....
