But FPP were, as I have said and even the staff were aware. Donald, Ross and Power had all spoken about the new owners. Not once did SD or his PR chums talk down als or roker rapport and deny any of their exclusives.
why on earth would they invest in someone they ain't heard off, he's an insurance salesman not an international businessman. It was always the club that they were interested in, not him.
I believe so. The WhatsApp of his that I saw said he was the new owner of SAFC, it didn't mention anyone else. When I saw the takeover reports I assumed the other two had always been involved ... .... perhaps that wasnt/isn't the case. As we're on the subject I'm still being told the same thing, they're currently the biggest investors and still actively monitoring the situation.
If he'd had a series of successes in football it might be the case ... ... the fact is he knows as much about football as most people on here. The day he walked into the SOL was his very first experience of a big club.
There’s being interested but that interest needs to be followed through with actions. Perhaps FPP weren’t serious enough. Plenty to criticise Donald for but nobody knows the ins and outs of this FPP stuff.
Well if they were that interested why haven’t they stumped up the cash? As you say Donald is just an insurance salesman. Surely real successful businessmen like the Dell lot could manoeuvre him out of position if they so wanted.
Christ man, he spoke about not knowing if they wanted him or not, you even quoted him saying they only wanted him. Ross told us he has “met the new owners”, Max Power was asked about new ownership and he said, he was “going to ask them for more money”, they set up a holding company with the SOL address, they’ve spent a fortune in legal fees and loaned Madrox 10m quid, but yes you are right, they were never serious.
Here’s a thought for you. Maybe as successful businessmen they don’t want to stump up what SD wants for it. I think that is how they became successful businessman in the first place. How can they manoeuvre him? Maybe if they loan him 10m quid and tell him he can’t sell the club to anyone else unless they agree or he pays the 10m back?
How do you know they haven’t made an offer that could be deemed derisory? It’s all very well slating Donald but nobody has a clue exactly what was on the table.
Because Donald told everyone he doesn’t know if the “new owners” wanted him, he introduced the “new owners” to the then manager and the playing staff. If he is so keen to sell as you keep telling us, why has no one else, including the 5 interested parties not “stumped up the cash”? The obvious answer is no one is meeting his asking price, so you don’t need to be Alan Sugar to deduce that maybe, just maybe, he is asking too much. You said he would flip us if he could get a nice profit. He doesn’t deserve to make any money as far as I’m concerned, he’s ****ed up everything he has touched.
Donald is praying we somehow manage to get promoted so his asking price will go up. Unfortunately, it looks like the disasterous last few transfer windows will probably scupper his plans and he will have to drop his asking price.
Well it seems pretty much a given nobody is meeting his asking price but who’s to say that is too much? You might put your house on the market but if nobody pays what you require you aren’t just going to give it away. People seem to be getting all carried away without having any idea of the facts.
I’m arguing with SBC aren’t I? If his price wasn’t too much, one of those 5 interested parties would have stumped up by now, everyone loves a bargain. If I was selling my house and no one met the price I wanted, that means I am asking too much, so I would reduce the price. You know, that thing that happens on thousands of houses every day of the week. You put a price on it, someone offers you less and you meet in the middle. No ****er is asking for him to give it away but even by your own little example, he is asking too much. You seem to be arguing without knowing any of the facts as well, but you are also ignoring the evidence right in front to you.
How serious have these parties been? None of us know just how far off the ground any of these deals have got. You wouldn’t sell the house if nobody came close to what you needed for it to be worth your while. Plenty people put something up for sale, but if they don’t get what they need they’ll just not sell, simple as that. I’m not slagging anyone off without knowing the facts though. You seem adamant that Donald is the bad guy in all this. I’m saying that I have no idea if he is or isn’t, but what is clear is that nobody has met his asking price. Nobody knows if that price is unreasonable or not.
Donald introduced the new owners to staff, that is how far off the ground this got. If no one has met his asking price despite having numerous interested parties, one in particular going through the whole DD process, setting up a holding company and attracting millions of pounds in legal fees, and no one has matched his asking price, you have to be pretty dim to think that he isn’t asking too much. Don’t you think that if the price was reasonable, people would have matched it? Plenty of people put things up for sale at a higher price than it’s worth and you meet in the middle. If you don’t sell, you aren’t really bothered about selling it in the first place, but we know that isn’t true where SD is concerned. You seem to think that he would sell if he turned a profit. Why does he deserve a profit. He’s appointed his mates in roles not suited, his recruitment has been dire, the academy is a shambles and they are rock bottom in their respective tables, any young un worth his salt is being sold off and we are in with a bloody good chance of starting our 3rd year in League 3, possibly even beating his own record last year of our lowest ever finish. Now if you think that I have made that up to make him look like the “bad guy”, you need to think again, it’s all his own work. All of this and yet SBC thinks that he should turn a profit, that’s ok then
At what point have I said he deserves a profit ? In his mind that’s exactly what he will want though and he isn’t just going to sell to keep peopleS face straight if it means he’s out of pocket:
So where is it I said he needs to sell to keep my face straight, I mean it’s not like you to totally twist things SBC. You said he would sell at a profit, in effect a prospective buyer will be thinking why he should be making a profit because of the very reasons I have stated earlier. That is where the problem lies and why he is asking too much, he wants a profit, buyers will be offering what it’s worth not “oh he paid so many millions lets give him 10% on top”. So in effect you are even suggesting he has priced it too high by saying “that is what he wants” but you cannot see or don’t want to see the evidence in front of your eyes
Presenting like he’s wanting a debate then refusing to acknowledge anyone’s opinions is classic SBC. Naming himself “the realist“ when in fact he’s on another planet seals the deal for me.
