It might sound soft but I don’t think it would sit well with me having owners who killed and dismembered a journalist who wrote against them. (That and if they pull any more stunts surely country’s will be forced to freeze assets and whatnot)
Mr brexit's hero trump, despite acknowledging the Saudis did it and therefore ordered by mbs, refused to consider any sanctions whatsoever due to arms sales values. Therein lies the nub of the problem. No one these days cares about human rights, compassion and decency if it gets in the way of red blooded commerce. When it comes to arms sales the uk remains a big hitter. There has been more concern about state sanctioned tv piracy in the middle east than state sanctioned murder and the extermination of yemenis. Maybe I am just a snowflake for being a decent compassionate person with a moral compass
Have you ever considered consolidating all of your sweeping generalisations into one easy to manage post ... ... terms and conditions apply
This thread title appears to be very misleading. At present we are stuck with Donald and it appears that there aren’t any buyers on the horizon.
You wouldn’t give a **** if they took over us and spent a fortune. Easy to take moral high ground when you know there’s zero chance of him turning up here.
The title refers directly to the article in the OP. FPP are currently the biggest investors at the club and have a company registered at the SOL. How would you know what's on the horizon, do you have information or is it just guesswork?
If anything was going to happen it would’ve happened in January when opportunity to invest in a poor squad was available. As it stands we are stuck with what we have so at best nothing will happen until the summer when there’s every chance we’ll be faced with another season in this dreadful division. According to Donald FPP won’t be looking to buy the club.
So you don't think investing millions was 'nothing happening' ... ... and bringing in new players was also nothing in your opinion? When you say 'every chance' we won't go up that's like saying we have no chance ... ... I disagree, yesterday was a blip in a good run if results.
Are you seriously calling January ‘investment’? A bunch of waifs and strays who weren’t wanted by their current clubs? Donald has clearly stated FPP aren’t interested in buying the club. What part of that are you struggling with?
Why would he say that FPP are unlikely to look to purchase the club? I’m sure he’s a lot closer to what’s going on inside the club than anyone on here.
So, in the space of two posts, you've said two different things, just as Donald does. "Donald has clearly stated FPP aren’t interested in buying the club. What part of that are you struggling with?" So he's either 'clearly stated' or said it's 'unlikely' ... .... you don't seem too sure about anything tbh.
The thing as I see it is, that SD says we are debt free, the best run club in League one, has buyers queuing up but he still can’t flip us. That tells me he is either bullshitting about that or playing hard ball with people he isn’t really in the same bracket as. Either way, as he dallies, it is the club that is suffering and he is in no rush to change that, it would appear. We are now going to have another Summer of speculation about buyers whilst he has for the 3rd window in a row, a cast iron excuse not to spend his cash.
Well I’m sure that Donald has happily spoken on behalf of a group of very successful businessmen to play down any involvement that FPP wish to have with us. As I’ve already pointed out Donald knows far more than any of us do. His quotes make a mockery of article that’s for sure.
So he's choosing his words carefully and 'playing down' FPP takeover talk ... ... but making a mockery of an article talking about a takeover. Yep, you've certainly clarified the situation
An article claiming FPP are going to takeover almost immediately contradicted by the owner of the selling club. Also these big successful businessmen who certainly won’t like be spoken on behalf of haven’t said a word to the contrary. Almost as if what Donald said is right isn’t it.
