Derby are going to get into FFP difficulty, because they're already paying Rooney daft money, and Huddlestone and Davies too. So the money required for Long to jump ship would be a fair old amount, plus, given their **** start, why on Earth would he want to go there?
More money, longer contract. League position less important to a player.

Sorry John you are wrong.
Could City have done more to keep James?
Alas not. Under Elite Player Performance Programme rules, City were powerless to prevent James from leaving. The Tigers were a category three academy at that time, while Swansea were a category two academy.

not everything is the allams.

We're being linked with Wilks again, is he the one with a court case hanging over him?
If so, how do we think it might work, loan till the end of the season then buy if he doesn't get time?

Jack Clarke ex TWS (last season) to join Middlesbrough on loan.... other then the money could he ever have made a worse decision.

Read an article recently about what Red Bull does to the clubs they buy.. not sure I'd be happy with that happening to us.

Name change is the mildest of it.

They got round that by judicious use of the German language. Maybe we could be Hull RB (Rude Boy) Tigers and enter the field to a reggae or ska track blaring out?
Total Network Solutions became TNS The New Saints.

Is there a change in the language being used in this transfer window?

The way I read things, McCann seems to be more involved than “Coaches” of late. He had a meeting last week and I just get the feeling that he isn’t just identifying targets, he is active in the deals.

That’s the impression I get. They are very much his players. Before I think Adkins seemed to get anyone Darnbrough could sign.

I just wonder if McCann set some conditions on him coming, whereas Nigel was very much cap in hand to get the job and was in no position at the time to ask for certain conditions. Basically McCann was headhunted, Nigel was out of work and just wanted the job. However, there is no doubt, because of the financial situation the Allam's have had to see the error of their ways.

As it stands, if TM was responsible for LDS, Elder, Tom Eaves, Herbie Kane et al, then the club can only listen when he says I want him. He looks like he'll be well in profit with his acquisitions in the long term. I suspect he wasn't necessarily involved in the loans of Bowler and Pennington. The latter might be a very good free in the summer if JDW is hunted by A.N.Other side if we are still in the Championship.

Pennington wouldn’t be free, we’d have to pay Premier League compo, which would make him more expensive than our other recent additions.
