Still waiting for someone to post something positive about the Tory manifesto without mentioning Labour.

37 pages so far.

Will we break triple figures? Stay tuned.
For me it's simple. They will honour the will of 17.4 million people, they have pledged vast amounts of money to the nhs(though whether that will fix it remains to be seen as the hierarchy and bureaucrats within seem to have damaged it beyond repair),they have been honest that there isn't a magic £ trillion tree but austerity will be eased. As opposed to Labour who are promising billions(possibly trillions),in an effort to recruit voters and look to me to be set to bankrupt our economy in a 5 year gift fest.

You were doing so well Ric, then you added the final sentence...

At least you gave an answer though, compared to some on your side. <ok>

What analysis are you using that indicates Labour would bankrupt the economy in 5 years?

Be interested to read it.

You do realise a country with a central bank can't go bankrupt?

Find any truly independent economists review and you will find that they agree now is the time to end austerity and invest in the country, and with interest rates being at rock bottom borrowing is a very sensible thing to do.

You will also find out that labours costings are a lie, due to the very basic way they have calculated increased tax income that contradicts every bit of data ever recorded on tax rates and receipts, but that is a different story.

Free food - guess what people go there
Hallmarks of a broken society?

Bored at work on a Monday morning got me thinking about this 4 day week idea.

To keep it as simple as possible, if I have a shop, café or takeaway place that is open 12hrs a day and 8 on Sundays that's 80 hours a week. So now I have 2 workers each doing 40 hours.

If my 2 workers only do a 32 hour basic week (should I presume they are going to get the same pay?) I would need to find and pay someone to do the other 16 hours or pay my existing workers time and a half for their extra 8 hours each.

This idea looks like a non starter to me.
Or you put your prices up to cover your costs, less people come in and you eventually shut down and put yourself and your staff on the Corbyn gravy train. Money for nothing, kicks for free. Especially if he makes Diane Abbot the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Pro business manifesto rather than anti business - more jobs

Pro economic growth rather than bust the economy again - more jobs

More jobs - this government already has the highest percentage of workforce in employment for at least the last 50 years more people in work than 2010 both in numbers and in percentage terms

Country in a significantly better financial position after having to impose austerity which is simply another name for repaying the massive debt left by the last Labour Government

Curbs on unfettered immigration and stronger borders - we already have 1.5 million illegal immigrants as a result of Blair's immigration policies

Get Brexit done and deliver the will of the people and stop sending billions of pounds a year to the EU gravy train

Australia based points system to stop us becoming the world's biggest refugee site

Keep the union together - Corbyn would give up NI to Ireland and the Scots would get another referendum

Corbyn would have to resign so hopefully we can put a stop to this disgusting increase in anti semitism

I have to say that the Tories don't have a magic money forest but between you and me neither do the other lot

2017 GE we heard lots about the magic money tree from the Conservatives.

We had May telling a nurse, who was struggling with living costs, that there was no 'magic money tree'.

Despite thiis, still managed to find 1 billion to bung the DUP for their confidence and supply.

It's called assessing both sides of the argument quill,it's how I've arrived at my decision. How can anyone make an educated decision without doing so?

We are a divided Country, more so now than I can ever recall and politics has become the main topic of conversation everywhere. It's toxic, hateful and has engulfed our lives.

Friday will give us the ultimate indication on how the public perceive this mess and I'll accept the result whether or not it goes in my favour.

Not to mention the £1 billion a month to Brussels and the paltry yield from that.

What about access to the to single biggest market on earth? With no customs checks or tariffs.

There's plenty of reasons to this dislike the EU, but to say we don't benefit from it is misinformed.

It should be like breathing air, free of charge.

On that note we’ll probably have an oxygen tax soon.

International trade just doesn't work like that.

The UK puts custom checks and tariffs on goods from certain areas in the world.

It's actually closer to half that amount (£650m net) and we get plenty for it, it's about half what we spend on overseas aid.
We put in £13 billion a year and get £4 billion back in real terms. We can negotiate a tariff free market within Europe for zilch, why would Europe not trade with us? Why pay £13 billion a year to prop up countries,Poland for example, because they can't manage their own economy?
