We don't know what was meant to be happening that's the point it was all speculation mainly in the media

In donalds last podcast mid August he says that we are close to investment from a preferred partner which is very exciting which means we can do the things we've wanted to to. He also says in that podcast that he wants these investors to help take us to the next level with long term sustainable investment not built on sand

It seems like he's achieved what he initially wanted. Now not one fan knows exactly what the long term plans are with MSD as its a confidential agreement

These facts might upset a few fans but I'm sure they will just make their own **** up anyways

I'm in no mood to pull this deal to pieces tbh.

Every club, and I mean every club, would be delighted to have investment from people like these.

You'd think that, after the precipice we were on with Short, people would be pleased that we're financially sound.

Cheers mate, all I did was try to keep things lighthearted and optimistic, sadly that really winds up some people as the torrents of abuse showed.

I was very lucky to have seen first hand evidence of what I still believe is a takeover ....

.... so I was in the fortunate position of having no doubts.

I still can't post everything I was told but I'm a very happy Sunderland supporter who just wants to go back to normal now.

It will all come out sooner or later including how Ashley let the Dell boys slip away <laugh>
Been a canny couple of months marra...enjoyed the snippets but not the abuse you've had.. from the other side MTM

The deal has obviously changed from what was initially intended. I think FPP have gone "safe" . It is a massive investment for us at this level. I would like Dell to be involved. I hope this is not a loan to the club.
To have these people have a financial interest in us can only be positive.

Do we need one? One or two games a fortnight, busy a couple of hours before a match and one hour after. Seems a lot of expense to me.
Exactly!
Some people expecting investors to inject zillions into sunderland's infrastructure on the basis they have invested something in the club.
Its bizarre.
Why would they, why should they?
First and foremost let's have success playing football ...the rest is just a sideshow, window dressing if you like.
I suppose it's easy to spend other peoples money

If it's a loan the only collateral is Donald's shares. If he defaults the club is theirs. Is that so bad?
Win win in my book

What's your problem with FPP putting millions into our club.
Why should anyone question their intentions.
We should celebrate the fact they have come onboard and are starting with the academy and scouting structure to build solid foundations for the future.
I just don't understand some of the cynicism of some of our so called supporters.
No problem with it at all. I would like to know what the situation is regarding what's in it for them currently but they dont have to declare anything so I wont give the club stick for it. It just didnt end up being what it was reported to be or what the 'itk' people claimed it was.

Who knows if it was ever more serious than what it turned out to be and we will likely never know. Its 100% good news and is a welcome distraction from seeing our fans getting slated from all quarters.

The only slating of our fans was from a group our so called fans over the road with an agenda.
We are not in a position to be informed of every decision or the reason these very rich people have decided to pump millions into us, nor am I bothered.
I love the fact that these people with no connection to our Club or City have reached into their very deep pockets and given us some cash.
My belief is that this is only the start of their involvement with the club and we are on the cusp of great turnaround in our fortune's.
The only thing I am concerned about is what's for lunch

Then to get to the match?

That's just it, we don't know exactly what it is and what they get out of it.
Beggars cant be choosers.
We are bu99ered without more money and donald's net worth wouldnt pay the travel expenses of these blokes.
They know what they are doing. They are investing in a similar way at Marlins.
That aside loans exist in all forms of business ...why should football be any different. Business is inherently risky.
We either stagnate and ultimately fade away with Donald or we hopefully prosper with donald and his loan mates.
Additionally what right do we have to expect to be privy to the nitty gritty of the deal. Again it doesnt happen in other forms of business.

I don't think we have a right to know, but it doesn't stop me from being curious. The beggars can't be choosers thing, well, if we appear desperate, I'm hoping the deal isn't reflecting that. It's good news they are on board but I would like it to have been that is their club as well, with some sort of committed ownership.

They're committed, be sure of that.

Millionaires are some of the tightest people on earth but they raise their eyebrows at billionaires.

These people won't be risking multi-millions without a forensically thought out plan.

This will change the club in ways we can't imagine.

Unpalatable as it maybe but without this investment we were paupers and paupers more often than not end up beggars.
Pride before a fall etc.
We need that money to steady the ship. Donald doesnt and will never have that sort of money to 'risk'.
This whole thing puts into perspective just how stupidly generous short was.

'Our fans getting slated'..by who and why
All this 'abuse' crack. A few idiots and now the owner isnt doing public events... it's not a good look.

Since the owners took over and have;
Increased season ticket sales
Fitted the seats.
Gifted tickets away to others for xmas
Sold 46k at home on boxing day
Sold out nearly every away game last season
No mass revolt following the worst finish in our history.
Averaged 30k in the third tier

The only thing the club doesnt deserve stick for is the fan. This 'abuse' narrative doesn't sit right with me.
