It's frustrating but Methven didn't actually say anything.

I'll be pleased/angry/disappointed/thrilled after I know the facts, not in advance.

From what I know, so far, I'm encouraged.
Give yourself another 10 years mate and you won’t give a toss you can only be s hit on so many times before your brain eventually engages. :emoticon-0102-bigsm<ok>

Hang on he was everyone’s hero a year ago, a man for the people, free hot dogs etc, great communication, gets us.
Not for me marra. After supporting Sunderland all these years I've always kept my feet on the ground and held a scepticle attitude for a while before making sure it's the real deal. Far to many fans at this club get swooned easily because someone likes to talk the talk, then when it goes tits up they wonder why. The man is failing miserably and is desperately trying to flog the club on, but in some people's eyes he's done a great job....how???

Would you say he has failed miserably if when this is announced he has got 3 billionaires on board with a long term plan to get us back up the leagues?

Thanks, explains it well.

Does anyone know if the rules on equity contributors change in league one vs the championship? I read through the FFP stuff on the EFL website this morning and it indicated that owners are allowed to contribute £8m (15/16 figures).

Then this from a Coventry City journalist when they were in the **** in 2015 indicates that investment as long as it doesn't increase the club debt doesn't count towards FFP... unfortunately if all of this is accurate, then the 'loan' would class as that :( :

The idea that it's a loan coming in doesn't make any sense to me. Why would Donald risk the future of the club on a loan that isn't aimed towards improving us imminently on the pitch?

I'd be curious as to what the strategy would be, given that so far we seem to have been happy enough to sell our youth prospects off on the cheap.

He's failed miserably on the football side which is quite frankly all I care about mate. Short was a billionaire and failed miserably so having clout behind us mean sod all unless it changes what happens out there. This is exactly what I'm talking about with people being charmed easily. We're probably at the club's lowest state in history yet excuses are still being made for him.

... I'm like a box with 3 sides, a hopeless case.
I can’t remember when I gave up used to go home and away with the Doncaster mini bus and then just thought sod this and just chose certain games and then just thought sod this and then just sat at home and moped <laugh> and then got a life :emoticon-0102-bigsm<ok>

It's not an excuse for him, the whole club has been an abject failure for years, its not going to be turned round quickly unfortunatley.

We are currently suffering our lowest point due to years of bad management, no direction and poor decisions off and on the field not just because of the current owner

Don’t mention lowest place in history mate oh! no no no.

When it is finally announced I genuinely hope they think carefully about its wording.

The last thing we need is a "wooly" statement that doesn't explain things clearly

To be fair I'm expecting it to be a piece of literature the likes of which would make Shakespeare proud, such is the length of time they've seemingly spent writing the ****ing thing!

He's made his fair share of poor decisions already, they outweigh the good ones that's for sure. The best decision he can make now is to pass the club onto someone that is able to run a club of our size.

Ok, good stuff. Now we're down to personal attacks and poor attempts at trolling.
I'm just browsing more at the moment and reading stuff and I may not believe some of the stuff you say but it's easily ignored here by skip reading. However the direct comments at you regarding austitism, paranoia and even starting a thread directed at you were ****ing pathetic! :emoticon-0114-dull:

Sadly this place is becoming like the one over the road..........
Same members on a wind up and mods do nothing... Where have we seen this before?
RTG is already a better place now as it seems a few posters are either banned or thinking before posting. I've just come on here this morning to catch up and you would have thought it was RTG from months ago :emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0136-giggl

You're not alone mate, there are always posts saying just that. But go to the away games, as I do, and there are always young lads coming along to 'replace you'.

I have a great life that includes football, it's not an 'either/or' situation for me.

After seeing your post I thought I'd have a look ...

.... the first few threads were one entitled 'Bedwetters' followed by 2 attacking our supporters of being either racist or quiet.

I'm assuming you were joking ;)
