Just tried reading from page 450 to 458 and am completely bamboozled.
I know I'm getting on a bit now but all these initials and loan this or investment that has my head spinning.
The new posters are certainly making themselves at home on here which is nice to see but I think like I did when the club were interviewing for our new manager I just gave up and waited till it was all announced on the clubs website and I think that's what I'm going to do with this thread.
I really appreciate everyone's efforts in trying to bring the latest news to the fore but I think I'll switch off now and maybes look again after lunch on Monday.
Hope it all goes how we want mind and the club can move forward with some cash in the bank.
KTF. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Totally off topic mate, but following on from our craic the other day, you know what ‘Lodore Falls’ is like? Looking at it for a birthday getaway for the bird.

Stayed at the Lodore falls hotel four years ago. I wasn’t in a good mood for some reason, the room was basic, and I went down and complained about the state of the room saying the windows were dirty. Got upgraded to an absolutely massive suite! Try it mate <ok>
Nice lake outside, some good walking spots and the falls are canny to look at if you like that kind of stuff.
Don’t let mackems I though, I’ve heard?

Cheers.

Its quite last minute just the outdoor bit looks very appealing.

They let you in, so if they are fine with closet Mackems I’m sure they will embrace an SR6er with open arms.

Remember, we are speculating, but in simple terms, and of course depending on the size of the loan, Stu/SAFC will not be able to repay the loan without progress.

Going up massively boosts finances, Stu can pay. Staying down, he likely can’t and as such his ‘equity’ or part of it, in this instance his stake on the club, pays the debt.

So, in a scenario when he can’t pay, the Americans start to buy into the club by taking a percentage of his ownership.

On the face of it, the winners are SAFC, as if we are speculating right, the clubs arse is covered.

Okay that sounds good! So basically Donald wants to stay, he thinks he can make a success of it. The Americans say "aye, mint but you might not and we don't want to take that risk". So he does it this way, keep progressing and he can pay it back (and they presumably still buy into the club later when we're looking decent for a promotion to the PL), fail to do so and the obstacle of him not wanting to go is removed by diluting his shareholding. That sounds a lot better than what I imagined

It’s us speculating, but seems reasonable. Of course, there’s no sign yet that they’ve invested, or loaned or anything else...

The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Let us hope it is edible

Hang on a sec, on rtg some are saying that if we couldn't pay it back they could liquidate assets.

I prefer the enquity thing but is it possible or are the doom mongers out in force?

I really just want a balanced opinion

In theory they could but there’s no financial gain in that for them.

They aren’t clamouring for a bit of land on Wearside that the city council would likely block them from doing anything worthwhile with anyway.

They want to own a successful, money making football club.

Would be difficult to liquidate eg SOL.
I would imagine it has specific purpose covenants eg sporting venue stadium.
Anybody buying it would have to knock it down and try to develop assuming they got planning and development permission from Sunderland council which I doubt they would give.
I can only believe if safc werent meeting obligations then shareholders ( methven and Donald ) would have to hand over the keys and hand over their shares more like.
Could be wrong

The hotel is a bit dated like, but there’s plenty around it. Make sure you drive up Wrynose pass and Hard Nott pass. Scenery is breathtaking!

Aye, you haven’t really sold it to be fair mate, we usually stay Low Wood but we’re only there about 6 weeks ago, might be a case of ‘if it ain’t broke’.

There’s this Aphrodites place as well looks off the scale but it’s a nightmare getting the room you want, and this is for next Saturday.

And we may have to take the durg.

Low Wood is a much better place imo.
Aphrodite is supposed to be a swingers place <laugh> I didn’t know till we got there.
It’s got a sister place in Bowness called number 27 I think. Got massive hot tubs in the rooms with a tv next to it.
Make sure you have drive up those passes.
I know we’re off topic before I get wrong.
