Low Wood is a much better place imo.
Aphrodite is supposed to be a swingers place <laugh> I didn’t know till we got there.
It’s got a sister place in Bowness called number 27 I think. Got massive hot tubs in the rooms with a tv next to it.
Make sure you have drive up those passes.
I know we’re off topic before I get wrong.

It’s cool man, I started it it’ll get back on track, it’s nearly 500 pages deep!

Not about the swingers life I’d rip someone’s throat out if they went near bird, I’ll check out that Number 27, and we will go for a drive about, it’s an idea we normally straight on the drink <laugh>

****ing £600 for Aphrodites next Saturday!

Hang on a sec, on rtg some are saying that if we couldn't pay it back they could liquidate assets.

I prefer the enquity thing but is it possible or are the doom mongers out in force?

I really just want a balanced opinion

It depends how much they’re putting in and what the loan is secured on. It wouldn’t make any financial sense for them to spend all this time trying to take over a football club to then, after a season of not getting promoted, sell the stadium and probably not even break even.

A couple of million quid to this lot will be like loose change. Their only interest is in us getting back to the top flight where the big money is. They’d be more likely to tell Donald to sling his hook and put their own people in charge than start flogging the ground if we don’t go up.

If it was a loan from the likes of SBC i would worry about this.
However these are 3 chaps who are actively looking to invest in a football club.
Yes they will want a return but if they wanted a quick buck they wouldn't be looking at football clubs
Their objective is to own a football club not make an instant killing
RTG saying if we can't pay back the loan the americans won't want they equity (i.e shares in the club)
Its completely the opposite they actually want to own the club and this way will get it on the cheap.

Just my opinion and remember we are just speculating

Bang on.

But the maybe not is we have been successful and can afford to pay them back?

Have I got that right?

It's likely a bit more obligated on both sides I would think.

There's very little advantage to a group like MSD simply loaning money, they want to have us as an asset one way or another. They're not a bank, and the rate of return is not high enough to justify the risk/outlay, so make no mistake, they see value in us and they see it as a worthwhile risk if they come on board. They won't be doing anything capricious like bankrupting us because that makes no sense to anyone except a pure money-lender who has no existential reason for the asset to exist beyond a financial stake.

Not only that, but SD would also want them to come on board in future, even if we were headed to the PL, because he quite simply doesn't personally have enough cash to invest in order to keep the club running at that level.

If they do this deal, it will be with a view to solidly coming on board as owners and having multiple options and methods to exercise that right.

Just tried reading from page 450 to 458 and am completely bamboozled.
I know I'm getting on a bit now but all these initials and loan this or investment that has my head spinning.
The new posters are certainly making themselves at home on here which is nice to see but I think like I did when the club were interviewing for our new manager I just gave up and waited till it was all announced on the clubs website and I think that's what I'm going to do with this thread.
I really appreciate everyone's efforts in trying to bring the latest news to the fore but I think I'll switch off now and maybes look again after lunch on Monday.
Hope it all goes how we want mind and the club can move forward with some cash in the bank.
I’m a bit like you, a little bamboozled by these young buck financial wizards.

In theory they could but there’s no financial gain in that for them.

They aren’t clamouring for a bit of land on Wearside that the city council would likely block them from doing anything worthwhile with anyway.

They want to own a successful, money making football club.
Ask the reception how to get to Surprise View, it’s a short drive or walk and you basically end up directly above the hotel with fantastic views of Derwent Water, Bassenthwaite, Catbells and the entrance to Borrowdale.

Is it 3 or 2 ?

Hackles you illiterate baboon, your hackles are up :emoticon-0114-dull:

Nope.. I mean the below..
A shackle is a U-shaped piece of metal secured with a clevis pin or bolt across the opening, or a hinged metal loop secured with a quick-release locking pin mechanism.. This is what I have put up dopey, to prevent the yanks getting hold of my club!! :emoticon-0172-mooni:emoticon-0172-mooni

Based on what.
What would make them any more or less trustworthy than donald, methven and sartori?
There are some posters still questioning the convoluted financing that donald utilised to take over safc. One national newspaper reckoned at best it was smoke and mirrors.
Regardless of who is telling the truth on either side let's just assume both parties have used finance methodologies that comply with legal and accounting standards otherwise they are really setting themselves up for trouble.
Bottom line donald wants to make a quid, the yanks see a good investment opportunity.
I hope my fears are unfounded mate, but there is just this feeling in the pit of my stomach..

How about if he was the leak, and that’s been uncovered? That would explain why he’s gone!
I don’t know but I doubt it. He works in commerce and commerce is where there’s money to be made so I’d imagine they want control of it all.

I agree. I mean what's a chap to do if you can't trust other chaps to do the right thing?
