A group of American billionaires just happen to have the contact details of a couple of lads who run a fanzine in Sunderland? Haway man :emoticon-0102-bigsm
But they will know people at the sun newspaper.

As for the fanzine, it's not hard to find out who considering their exposure since last year

You know nout. You're only on here for likes. I bet you've been kicked of RTG. Your over here now looking for mates to spread your crap
It's normal on this board to actually discuss the issue not just hurl abuse at people
I know that's difficult to understand if you have been on RTG for a while
But I for one quite enjoy the crack on this board please don't drag it down to abuse

If you actually think that some American billionaires who have zero sporting or personal connections to not only the U.K., but Sunderland specifically are going to tip the wink to a couple of random fanzines ahead of every newspaper in the country then I simply cannot take what you say seriously.

I didn't say they did, I said we don't know who tipped them off.

Let's not forget the rtg message board (part of als) is one of the most popular boards in the UK hardly difficult to find them

And the first time that anything was posted on there was a completely unrelated tweet from the 21st if August saying that we were being taken over by some rich people. Absolutely zero information about them whatsoever.

Then the day after RR and ALS come out with the names of everyone in the US who are involved, even specifically saying that Dell wasn’t involved personally even though that’s what The Sun was reporting on the 17th.

Didn't that all come a tweet from someone in dubai?

The question to ask is always " who is the leak of this information most beneficial to?"

It didn't benefit MSD in anyway at all.

Of course it did.
Fanbase hear of multi billionaire interest, just to cement this they turn up at a game, fanbase put pressure on owner to sell.
Straightforward enough tactic.

A definite possibility.

I am not too sure what you mean. Doing due diligence, costs etc will be done but the club will continue to operate normally and make decisions. Due diligence does not stop this. Unfortunately doing due diligence and incurring large costs does not always result in something happening - it is a risk a potential purchaser takes.

Methven said investment isn't a necessity this year. If you were a potential investor would you go to all that expense if the potential seller wasn't arsed about it?

I quite liked the official statement and I am confident that we will have investment from our American buddies sometime soon.
I think Mr Donald and Mr Methven have done sterling work.
We now need to forget about it and support our team to promotion this season.
Then we can renew our American acquatance
