I'm pointing out that his original comments were naive. 2 weeks ago instead of telling fans it was better than 50/50 and that in 1 or 2 weeks, we should know more., He could have given this statement. Because he gave the detail he did, he built up the expectation of fans and the media noise about it.

Fans themselves built up the expectation.

Agree with Mr Gordon, that statement should have been released at least 2 weeks ago , instead genuine supporters have been allowed to whip themselves into a frenzy with justifiable excitement and optimism. I don't blame posters like smug who I believe has posted the most accurate itk info and done it in the best interests of supporters but AS should have managed this a lot more professionally

Any quick updates knocking about? I've just seen the club statement but seeing things about something Methven has said, what was that? Anything else happened today, i've been busy all day so not on anywhere since this morning.
Never mind, didn't want to know anyway.

I'm sorry. Just having a laugh. And it most definitely says alot about me being a dick.

But this is dead easy.

1) at the time of saying he would provide an update he expected to be concluded or off and therefore clear of NDA and therefore could speak more openly.
2) however it's still ongoing so he is still under the NDA therefore still cant say anything.
3) despite number 2 above, he did promise us an update, so he has provided an update as best he can - on time.
You know nout. You're only on here for likes. I bet you've been kicked of RTG. Your over here now looking for mates to spread your crap

One thing that's totally clear after that statement from the board.....the 'takeover'/investment is not off. It's ongoing and is a damn sight better than we were led to believe from others who were in a frenzy last night.
If you can't see that your a clown.

I think it’s a very good statement. We haven’t been fecked off seemingly, our owners are working hard to secure the investment needed for next season when we are in the Championship

Why did they do the due diligence now and all the costs associated with it when the club can enter into as many transactions as they want between now and then?

The facts are
Donald said in his podcast that he hoped to be giving out aome exciting news soon about investment (co-incidently just as it was coming to the end of the transfer window). He was then happy to have them on show at the ground for the wimbledon game. He was happy to let his right hand man share pictures on twitter from the cockpit of the helicopter, he was happy for the excitement levels to be whipped up when the companies house thing was set up. He has caused this ****storm, no one else, he could have nipped it at any point and he never. I have said from day one, a club like sunderland is way above his capability, eastleigh is about his limit. We will see with the management appointment what he is all about.

I am not too sure what you mean. Doing due diligence, costs etc will be done but the club will continue to operate normally and make decisions. Due diligence does not stop this. Unfortunately doing due diligence and incurring large costs does not always result in something happening - it is a risk a potential purchaser takes.

I agree with something re some of the facts but he could do nothing about Companies House as this is publicly available information - also he couldn't show people round without some spotting this.
