What more did he tell us about the investment/takeover today that we didn't already know?
The statement for those that may not have read it :
We are aware of speculation surrounding two issues at the club: the search for a new first team manager and discussions regarding future investment in the club. We wish to address these.
A. The recruitment of a new manager
The Board is engaged in a formal process, involving drawing up a short-list of candidates, with the aim being to appoint a new manager as soon as is practical. Naturally, this process will remain confidential and we won’t be commenting further until an appointment is made.
B. Discussions regarding future investment
The Board has consistently stated its desire to seek additional investment to enable the club to be competitive in whichever league it finds itself in. In League One, this (additional investment) is not a necessity, so it is a matter of looking to future requirements, if and when promotion is achieved.
Discussions have been ongoing for some time, and continue to be so, but until those talks have concluded one way or the other the club cannot give further comment, owing to confidentiality agreements.
Whilst we understand the desire of supporters to know how the process is developing, we would ask, please, for some patience. We will provide an update as soon as we are able to. In the meantime, please do not attach undue credence to speculation and theories from various sources, as they are unsubstantiated.
Across all areas of the club we continue to operate and progress as usual. The business of the club is in good working order, as we look forward to an exciting few months on the pitch, including crucial League One matches and a last 16 League Cup tie against Oxford United.

The fans demanded an update as he said he would give one. He has given an update
Damned if he does damned if he doesn’t. No win with those that have made their minds up. when did some of our fans become so toxic that there is a negative to everything

Feel like I'm banging my head on a brick wall. Fans demanded updates, the update is talks are ongoing. Is it that hard to grasp? If I was SD I would pack every bit of fan involvement in, I'm sure he doesn't need the hassle
You said he told us more? What more did he tell us?
Also, fans didn't demand an update. Donald said "it's better than 50/50, we will know in 1 or 2 weeks" creating that expectation.
It's 2 weeks later, he can't be surprised that the fans were expecting to know.
Exactly, it's time to completely defuse this takeover stuff, and get on with the day to day business of getting out of this league.

At the talk in he gave us an updste that expired today.

For better and for worse, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health... SAFC is like a marriage mate.. You stick with them regardless.
Any quick updates knocking about? I've just seen the club statement but seeing things about something Methven has said, what was that? Anything else happened today, i've been busy all day so not on anywhere since this morning.
I'm getting more disappointed it's not concluded because of the friction and distraction than the fact its this so called amazing opportunity.
I don't give a f☆☆☆ who they are if it derails the whole club for a whole season, which it is now threatening to.

Its hard to have a discussion when you move the goalposts marra.
I'll try and get my point across clearly and please don't assume I'm one of the unreasonable doom mongers, I'm far from it. I'm happy with 90% of what Donald has done since he got here.
The only reason I expected information about the takeover today is because Donald himself said so. Not because of fans on a message board, not because of newspaper gossip and not because I'm impatient. His responses to this matter are, in my opinion, either inconsistent or a little bit naive.

Not at all, I understood the statement, that was never the issue and I've never claimed that was my issue with it.
