I’ve just put £40 on Stendel.

No other reason than it should be him.

Holland paid for that 10 times over last night <laugh>

I put it in 2 mins after NI scored mate, so got 11/1, I chucked £50 on thinking I’d cash out if they equalised quick, then they took to 87 mins so cash out was £35 so left it.

Shan on Ireland, good for me <laugh>

There’s a few Barnsley fans posting there thoughts about Stendel on RTG, seems they can’t rate him highly enough. This is the latest.

    He is amazing.

If you were to appoint him today, you wouldn't lose more than two league games between now and the end of the season.

I am convinced that when he goes to a club who'll back him, he'll be remarkably good. Like a poor man's Klopp. He took us up last season despite the continual sell-off of players. One of his key midfielders, Potts, and a proven League One goalscorer, Bradshaw, were flogged and I'm sure he didn't want either of those things to happen.

He just carried on regardless, winning games. The club properly stitched him up over the summer, though. Not so much the quality of players who left - though Pinnock is ace - but the raw nature of the kids we signed in the hope of competing in the Championship on the cheap. He wasn't able to do it, but I'm not sure anyone could.

Our loss is someone else's gain.

I’m convinced he’s the one. I’ve had craic with Barnsley lads on Facebook videos and they all are along those same lines.

My wishlist/essentials are in order of preference:-

    1) Has demonstrated they can get a team promoted out of league 1
    2) Have managed a 'big' club or at least a reasonably sized club#. This is so they have at least some experience of reasonable expectation levels.

    # an example of reasonably sized club is Barnsley, Coventry, even Wigan. Wycombe etc are not.

Anyone who hasn't got those basic requirements should be completely ruled out for this job in my opinion.

Looks like you'll believe what you want mate and I'll believe what I want. Either of us could be right and we'll agree to disagree.

Depends on how long was left on his current one. May have just brought talks about a bit earlier than planned.

Stendel managed Hannover, a sizeable club, like a Southampton in the Bundesliga.

On the face of it, everything we were asking for from Jack.

He’s gone out to 13/1 mind hence my bet.

My guess is Cook, if that doesn't come off, then Stendel.

Cook is a more defensive based gaffer, that’s the downside.

He’d get thrown to the wolves after 6 weeks if we weren’t winning.

I’d like to see Pearson as gaffer and Super Kev as assistant. Failing that I’d prefer Stendell to Ainsworth.

I think he wanted some experienced players in the team because they are all young but the owners wouldn't back him.
