True but I imagine it's also not unusual to get screwed when you have the lower hand and you've got yourself in it up to your neck by pretty much announcing it to the media and selling your business.

I'd say you're thinking along the right lines. We know something is holding it up, it's either the SAFC end or the Americans end. And we know who holds all the cards

Actually the more you think about it, the more the delays make sense.

It leaked to early, nothing was denied and two fanzines with very close ties to the club ran with the story, printed t shirts etc.

The club never said a word until the consett talk in, which wasn't the greatest but of pr

Then the twitter posts about it being better than 50 50 and expect to no more in 1 to. 2 weeks.

While all this is going on, social media is on fire with SAFC fans over the moon with the prospective takeover and potential plans.

Let's remember the blokes hopefully buying us are billionaires. You don't get that rich by giving money away.

They have possibly seen the opportunity to save themselves a fair bit of money

I think it’s just educated guesswork mate, surely nobody at the club is that stupid to give critical information out...........
It’s the ALS one that throws me there podcast basically acts like it was done ages ago and start selling T-shirt's stating it then SD says its not done

Yep, and if they walk away they know there will be a large section of the support who blame Donald as the details won't ever be made official. Furthermore we've hit bad form. Next season we'll make less than this regardless of whether we go up because of the parachute payment ending, but going up is worth about £6m more than staying down. Can Donald afford to keep us in league one with no parachute payment? If he can't, recent results and performances have just made him even more desperate to sell and you never get top price when a potential buyer knows you're desperate to sell something

Donald has painted himself into a corner (with his "subtle leaks") with 3 blokes who are Premier league moneymen compared to his non league moneyman status. They know he has to accept whatever deal they propose now. Hard nosed business men getting the best deal they can, they will have dealt with bigger fish than Stewart Donald in my opinion.

Add to that they will have done serious due diligence and will probably have a better idea of our financial position than anyone at the club.

Take the alverez suing the doctor thing that suddenly appeared, you can almost here the new owners asking "why didn't you sue the doctor, who you employed"

I'd imagine they'd have dealt with bigger art dealers

Sounds plausible

Aye there is no way that came from our lot. Donald would have mentioned when previously talking about that case, that we were looking into our legal rights etc.

I think it might be a bit of hard ball near the end at both sides. I don’t think Donald would jeopardise this chance for his own gain. If anything he’d try to push this through and not walk away easily.
