Wouldn't be surprised if more of us newbies join mate... the decline of the RTG and people knowing now about this site will only draw more of us.

I'm sure from some of the comments I have read on RTG today about this place dying off once the takeover is done may well come trueish.

However I quite like it over here, where people are polite and discuss things.

Yes I will still post on RTG, but I will also post on here.

I don't understand the belittling of another forum from some RTG members

To be fair I don't really understand the belittling either way! Whenever another forum gets noticed there always seems to be some weird rivalry between some of the posters. I like the SMB, aye there's a lot of WUMs who see they can get attention there because it's so busy but there's also loads of cracking posters, and it's good that it's always busy in some respects even if certain threads become hard to follow.

I'll always post on there, but theres no reason to stick to one place, when I'm bored at work or traveling for work the more sites to browse the better. The takeover thread on here is better imo, mainly just because it's easier to keep up with and a bit more on topic. There's good posters here so I'll probably stick around, won't be getting involved in any mud slinging though, both sites are fine

That's kind of my point, although you have put it better than I did.

Certain posters even brought up when a new forum started up about 10 years ago!

For me there is a place for both and as an exile I welcome having 2 places I can go to for info.

What I won't miss from RTG is the certain few posters who appear to get away with all sorts.

The cricket Forum on there has been a haven this year for me, good discussion, the odd argument but in general people taking about a sport they love and being allowed opinions.

That sub forum in particular showed me a different side to one poster and I have spoken to him via pm to say that he might need to not read to much into words and also to relax a bit.

I can guarantee the poster in question will be goaded though as people respond to the name and not the content of his post

Everyone who wants to pop in and out for a chat is welcome mate.

There are some cracking longstanding posters and the new ones are boosting the board.

You have access to the board of every club so can guage what the opposition supporters are feeling.

That's a canny idea before an away game, check what the opposition are worrying about etc.

He never bothered me as much as the skunks. I had the signature "Never reply to a skunk or we'll never get rid of the saddos"

I tend to just pop onto rtg at irregular intervals, sometimes even months or years at times.
One thing that was apparent in that time was the bitching/arguing by the same clique of posters. I like a bit of 'heated' debate myself but the degree of hounding and general nastiness of some makes it a toxic place at times.

I remember joining something years ago - black cat chat? (What happened to that?) when PF and SMB split into 2 separate boards and I don’t think it’s ever been as good since the split

I asked the old owner of bcc and they let someone else take over and its currently looking unlikely to come back
