You could probably be reasonably sure that most of us, have purchased something relating to one of those companies listed at some point in time. In fact I'd probably say it's pretty much a certain.
All the public would have to do in the global economy is refuse to buy from those companies, but we all know that will never happen, so really everyone of us exploits children in some way. Yet those companies listed, make the biggest profits in the world. That's your problem with a global market, exploitation.
So have all the ****s who only ever posted on that thread followed?Brexit has moved to GC![]()
There were only two who only ever posted on that thread and, yes, both of them now live there. It’s the best place for them although I suspect it will end badly for one of them!So have all the ****s who only ever posted on that thread followed?

wrong mate, quite a few who only came for that abortion off a thread..There were only two who only ever posted on that thread and, yes, both of them now live there. It’s the best place for them although I suspect it will end badly for one of them!![]()
I’ve had a look in. It’s 80% Twitter spam and the locals already seem to be getting restless.Quite a few but not everyone. I haven't, although I've looked, and I've not seen Stan on there, and Tobes has disappeared (probably on hols). Don't think I've seen Piskie on there.
good ridance to the ****s.Quite a few but not everyone. I haven't, although I've looked, and I've not seen Stan on there, and Tobes has disappeared (probably on hols). Don't think I've seen Piskie on there.
True that. We all buy stuff that contributes to the problem. But as I said, we've been drip fed this ideal from the big companies that provide us with cheap goods and told it's a good thing because 'market forces' are driving down costs for consumers. Only it isn't. There are hidden costs, to the people producing the goods in the first place and the environment that is plundered to meet this demand for more and more stuff.
It's not easy to extricate yourself from it. We're so embedded in a culture of consumerism and the demand to have whatever we want, when we want it, from any part of the world, at any time of the year, delivered next day and we want it cheap.
I'm trying to move myself away from that ****. I know people have a laugh and take the piss about my non TV, second hand shoes, hippy ***** vegan stuff. But that's me trying to do things differently. I'm far from being apart from it all. But I'm trying to make a start.
good ridance to the ****s.

I didn't know it had migrated to GC. I haven't been on there, I might take a look at some point.
The politics thread was like wading through treacle though. There's so much baggage between posters it just can't ever get beyond the personal spats.
I always felt how you do with the Apple market and iphones, it was like witnessing a queue of clones, waiting to buy the products. But if it's not them it's going to be some other alternative, who are just as big globally.
That's the problem with the unfettered capitalist model. It's all about bottom line profit. So if one company decides to operate ethically, it's costs them and their customers more. And there will always be somebody who doesn't give a **** about anything but profit, knowing that they will attract more custom because they can offer the same thing cheaper.
Hiag will have you all discussing House property prices on Pluto by the end of the weekend

It took about 2 years to get rid of the omelette threadI expect someone from GC will nudge me eventually to remove it or someone.
