While I realise the Allams haven't apologised for their series of awful decisions, and of course people are free to do what they like and continue to stay away, I do just find it sad that there isn't much evidence of any change of heart from people on here. The Allams have, admittedly due to the pressure imposed on them, gone back on many of their worst decisions, and do seem to be trying to rebuild bridges - I almost don't care what their motives are for doing this. It seems to be that by continuing to boycott, people are in danger of hurting the team and a promising new manager, as well as depriving themselves of doing the thing they love on a Saturday afternoon.
Would also just add that all over the world, reconciliation has depended on laying down grudges. If can be done in Northern Ireland and South Africa, seems sad it can't be done over something as ultimately trivial as football. I realise this seems to be a minority view.
You sound like you would be standing on the airplane steps waiving a bit of paper!

Number one son could not give a **** about you, only his money

His money? Bank of papa money. Why I find it odd to see anything approaching a reconciliatory tone. Something the old man would never do. So why has this letter been given the nod?

The Harry money keeps things afloat, possibly a few shillings off the loan. And Bowen to sell.

We are still irrelevant to the football related business.

No sign of you today Enob or your old man. If you mean it, lead by example you ****.

Think they said that their presence distracts fans from supporting the team which is sad but correct.

Then they get grief when they don't attend.

Damned if they do damned if they don't.

You do realise we have a whole new generation of fans since Boothferry Park don't you ?
we would have had even more with concessions in place for the last few years
Are you sure ?
Where people really born in the last 20 years and attended games !
Surely you can only go if you went to Boothferry Park !
And specifically the infamous Brentford game <laugh>

Obviously I do. But the reply was to the poster doubting that the extra 10,000 we attracted came because were winning ???
Why did our gates jump 10,000 then if it wasn't because we were winning ?
I could have sworn I also said that we should have built on those extra 10,000 with another 10,000 and kept them, but we didn't.
We could have encouraged more with concessions etc, I would have done, and we could have built a much sounder foundation for the future IF the club and council could have agreed something about the stadium.
But they couldn't and the opportunity was lost.
Since then nothing has happened and the club has shrunk in size.
Opportunity lost.

Where did they come from then ? Because we didn't have them at Boothferry Park ?

The part I highlighted had nothing to do with where they came from.

“The 10,000 'supporters' they 'lost' were the 10,000 they had jumped on the bandwagon”

It was a wrong assumption that the 10k lost were the same new supporters who you, again wrongly, suggest “jumped on the bandwagon”

Did you “jump on the bandwagon” when you started supporting the club? Not all new supporters started going solely because of the new stadium & many from that generation, including many of the youngsters of the time (who would have gone with or without a new stadium) are still going now.

Many of the lost 10k were going for many years before a new stadium had even been suggested or in fact needed. They’d had enough of the owners who were, & continue, to take the piss.

There were many who felt attracted to the comfort, safety & facilities associated with a new stadium (doesn’t make them bandwagon jumpers) but not all of them, some were the children of long term supporters, others would have been first generation new supporters going with mates who had grown old enough to dump their dads or we’re joining mates & their dads.

To presume all 10k were attracted by a new stadium, refer to them as jumping on the bandwagon & then assume they are the same 10k who no longer go is wrong, short sighted & ignorant.

The “must appear superior” attitude of many of our more senior supporters is quite ****ty at times. People like me would much rather read about your old experiences & laughs at away days & home games than having to endure posts about how better supporters you think you were / are & how **** you think today’s supporters are.
