    Here's the dilema.

Lets say that you have just met a new partner, the partner of your dreams, and everything is going well. Suddenly you discover your new other half supports a rival football club. <yikes> <yikes> <yikes> What would you do??? :emoticon-0108-speec

I'd immediately let her know that in the event of the relationship going all the way down the years, the kids would follow my team.

It wasn't so long ago that I wanted to shag a manc. Wanted to shag like nothing else. Not sure she really cared about football, but she was from Bury and she'd told me her dad was a big fan.

I like what you said about making sure the kids followed your team. Big difference between wanting to shag a manc, and marrying one... <laugh>

Married a Manure supporting whore in '92,the year we pipped them to the title,so great time to wind up her scum supporting family. It helped that we were always in the same division during our marriage(& the fact she was drop-dead gorgeous!)
Ten years ago we divorced & the selfish scum **** left me to bring up our two daughters, then aged 8 & 6. Made sure I raised them to hate Fergie's lot!
Recently had a six year relationship with a Charlton fan,her dad & twat skinhead brothers also being fans of the tinpot club from the Valley. To keep the peace, whenever Charlton were on tv I used to pretend to want Charlton to win whilst deep down hoping they'd lose just because I knew if they did it would piss her brothers off(we hated each other). Felt a bit guilty as I genuinely believe she wanted Leeds to win whenever we watched them play, but hey ho,life's a bitch & so was she.
    Anyway,that's my story :emoticon-0118-yawn:

    hmmmm

Firstly it would depend on how much I loved her.

Secondly, if we planned to have kids, she'd have absoluely no say whatsoever, and I'd make that clear. Even if I died before or just after the baby was born (without putting ideas into her head ;) ) I'd make her promise that the child supported my team. Football teams should always be passed down through the father, unless they were armchair fans and the woman (for some strange reason) liked football more.

But the thought of someone I love in a Forest/Derby/Cov shirt....just no. Makes me feel stabby.

Wouldn't care - Every time the two teams played each other it would be a great opportunity for a bit of banter

My family are far more important to me than my football - honest <whistle>
