I think it will be Dobbo. I don't think O'Nien is ready esp when he doesn't have an established position
Good guess - both have captained their teams, Dobson was captain of Walsall when he was 20. However I reckon it will be Willis.

In my view Honeyman was another Colback, sideways backwards and lots of misplaced passes, A Sunderland lad wish him well but for the team he needed to go, brought very little to games and has not improved much, once these new lads settle as a team we will only get stronger, in my view there are 3 more we need to get out of the door starting with Loovens.

I'd prefer someone more established, doesn't seem quite right getting a new player in and immediately making them captain when they barely know anyone's name. Having said that it's not a big deal and if one of them is the best man for the job then give them it.
I’d give it to McGeady.
Big game player, seen it all, and it might get him a bit more consistent.
We all know the only thing that lets him down is when he can’t be arsed, if it inspires him to push every game it could make our season.

Certainly wouldnt have a problem with McGeady but would/could it affect his game making sure the younguns are OK as opposed to ripping defenders to bits and banging in goals.

I don't fancy him for it, Arsenal tried that with Ozil and he seemed to have one great game after getting it then slipped back into dipping in and out of games when he felt like it.
Personal preference but I prefer a blood and thunder captain, someone who will lead by example every single game.
I would struggle to name a current SAFC player to fill that role.
Someone in the mould of Raich Carter perhaps...

It’s a simple thing, this football management malarkey. Sign players who have won promotion from this league before, who have scored for fun, who have captained League One sides in the past. Put them all in the famous red and white stripes and bring in an up and coming manager to guide them.
Only it isn’t that simple, as last year showed.
A team is like a glove players needs to be a good fit.
For all Charlie Wyke’s record at this level is impressive, we simply don’t play with wingers banging crosses into the box or an effective number ten playing off Wyke’s knock-downs.
Will Grigg arrived injured but how long can that be the excuse before we see this lethal predator in action? Or has he simply had his day and we’ve been porked massively for a striker who is now past his best?
Whatever the excuses, I haven’t seen enough from either of them in months, let alone pre-season, to think either is going to score one, let alone bang six, past Oxford barndoor and banjo come to mind.
Now I’m not about to call Marc McNulty out as some kind of messiah, but he’s arrived with fire in his belly, a desire to show what he can do and smashed a hat trick past Hartlepool. He worked well in Ross’s preferred formation, with a fluid movement amongst Maguire and McGeady, and immediately looked comfortable with the role he was asked to play.
It’s only Hartlepool, but you can only beat what’s in front of you and Grigg certainly isn’t beating anyone right now. and his average in performance rating is around 5 usually with the comment went missing
Maybe, with this energy and desire on show Sparky needs to start against Oxford, but also it acts as a signal to Grigg and Wyke that they’ll not have it easy this year - especially when they aren’t producing the goods

I think I would be tempted to stick McNulty in but think he will play Wyke. Could Ross surprise us and play a totally different game to suit Griggs strengths. I still think with the right service he will score goals. One of the reasons I would like O9 moved forward to play balls through to Grigg.
