Or we could get rid of Sky & VAR and their ridiculous amount of camera's, angles, slo mo, "experts" and everything else they possess and go back to having a referee on the pitch seeing things once in real time.
It is so often true that the refs decisions favour the big clubs, even when the little club is at home.
That would work, but I suspect the Genie is out of the bottle and cannot be put back. VAR does need to work better, waiting 5 mins for a verdict is not on. The powers that be could consider a couple of points, stop the clock (as in rugby) when we await a decision and show the replay on the big screens, so fans are not left out?
Rafa's post match comments on Saturday should surely be looked at - asked about the penalty he said "well I think it's time we had VAR" Or, in other words, "the ref got it wrong" which, in most games, would see a manager punished. He hides behind VAR to have a go at the ref and it seems to be accepted
The "offside" Man c goal was not, as the spurs player played it back, so their "5th" goal should have stood it bounced off the Man c player mind but to me he did not play the ball, hell of a game as well. I still say Spurs will win the champions league getting a tenner on.
Not so much. The penalty was given clearly and VAR was used as a token gesture ref looked at it for about a nano second.
It wasn't a deliberate hand ball, if the ball hit his raised arm then yes it's a penalty but he was going to ground and his hand was there to protect his fall. .He didn't handle it deliberately and didn't know where the ball was. Anyway - doesn't really affect the game Brasil look back in control now.
He got a second yellow card for a scissor challenge - he can't really complain but he's such a spoilt brat and lost it completely, kicked a water bottle, punched the var screen and nearly knocked it over then sat on the naughty step having a hissy fit
Hate VAR. Fans, whether at the ground or watching in the pub or at home, will never be able to celebrate a goal in the same way again.
