Appropriate education & parental influence would go a long way.
Or living in a country with the right attitude.
Kids naturally have no prejudice. Parental or educational bias molds their attitudes. And peer pressure obviously.

    Sarcasm. Huge fan. Right here.

Statistically, British Asian managers are massively under represented in this country. There should be nearly 10% based on our population so surely it's logical that BAME managers are less likely to be shortlisted? Percentages and ****.

Is there evidence to suggest BAME mangers are being turned away from jobs they would get if they were white?

Can the shortlist exclude CRAP candidates?.......Conceited, Rude, Arrogant, Pompous............or maybe that exclusion should be reserved for owners!!!

My Uncle lives in Trinidad - He was married to a Trinidadian - now divorced (I hope that’s correct) it’s a really diverse community over in Trini and he absolutely loves it.

I don’t like the idea of this and don’t think it should be necessary, but the fact that the US saw a four-fold increase in African-American coaches after bringing in this rule, suggests it works.

"Sportswriters and pundits often credit the Rooney Rule with boosting the number of minority coaches in the National Football League. But a study by Indiana University economist Todd Walker and two other researchers determined that the rule, adopted in 2003, has in fact had little impact on hiring."

"Shortly after the rule took effect, the percentage of African-American coaches more than tripled, and a recent study concluded the rule was working. But Walker and the Solows didn't agree with the methodology of that study, and they decided to conduct their own."

"The results showed that decisions were based largely on the candidates' experience and success as assistant coaches..."

72% are white in the US, 87% in GB.

Not sure why we should seek to emulate the septics in this.

We have managers in the PL and EFL from various cultures who can barely speak English (Slutters at City for example) yet they get taken on.

Clearly we are a lot more open-minded in our recruitment than people like to make out.

Slutsky learned English because he believed he needed to know it to be an effective boss in England. He did it pretty well, too, so he's not a great example but I get your point. If he'd worked out his defence and the Allams had said no when he suggested walking away, I think we'd have been the beneficiaries of a decent job. But he didn't, they didn't and we didn't.

We seem to live in a world where certain demographics demand to be over represented. If we wanted a world where everybody was accurately represented, we'd be sending thousands of sportsmen back to their country of origin, and we'd be all the worse for it.

What happens if there are no black applicants?

What happens if there's only one black applicant and it's just one of us meffs who only wants an interview so he can tell Ehab he's a massive ****?

What happens if Ehab interviews a black candidate but cuts it short immediately?

Maybe Slutsky was not a great example. But I seem to remember his interviews with David Burns and their mutual incomprehension.

Mark O'Silver wasn't Peter Ustinov either, and maybe that's why we conceded so many goals with his loco zonal defending schtick at corners.

Compared to most sports leagues in the world I'd say English football is massively diverse

We default to gay guys. No choice. We can only employ a new manager if he's first seen to suck a dick, it's the only logical path.

    Or a disabled lesbian.
